Admission into MIT Muzaffarpur: JEE Main and BCECE

Till now, my overall experience at Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology has been very good. I choose this institute because it is affordable and it has obtained high ranking among the 38 government colleges in Bihar.

I chose the B.Tech program because I was always interested in technology and software development. IT is a field that is used in every industry. There are lot of jobs and growth opportunities in this field. Therefore, I felt this would be the best choice for my career development. I would also suggest others to take this course. Students can get admission in this program by qualifying exams like JEE Main or BCECE. Students who have secured good percentile in these exams will have to undergo UGEAC counselling in which a rank list will be released on the basis of their results. Students will be allotted seat in specific college or institute in accordance with their rank.

The fee of the institute is very low. So those who don't have much money can do B.Tech from this institute. Students belonging to Bihar can get loan under the Bihar Education Students Credit Card scheme. Students from Backward Castes can avail the PMS Scholarship.

There are around 60 students in all the branches. All the faculty members have done PhD and their way of teaching is good. The teachers are friendly and they have great bond with the students. They read out different topics written on the board, organise group discussion, and share PPTs on various subjects. Now digital boards are also being installed in all the departments, so they will start teaching us through PPTs.

I don't know much about placement cell as I am still in 3rd semester. The on-campus placement drives organised at Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology are visited by many reputed organisations. Almost 50% students get placed every year. My seniors have also been recruited through the placement assistance provided by the institute. However, the placement services could be improved.

The institute offers residential facilities for male and female students separately. At the hostels, students are offered mess food 3 times a day. I am not staying at the hostels so I don’t have any information about its fee structure. There are various PGs available nearby the institute which can also be used for accommodation by the students.

The campus of the institute is located 3 kilometres away from the Muzaffarpur Junction and covers an area of about 55 acres of land. It is close to NH-28 which provides students with good transpiration facilities. The main academic block of the institute contains various departments including Information Technology, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Electronics Engineering. It also has well-equipped Applied Sciences facilities. The institute has large classrooms and seminar halls. The library, labs, auditorium, and conference hall are well maintained. There is a canteen here which could be improved. Students can get medical facilities just outside the institute.

My overall campus life is good. The student population of the institute is not high. There are many clubs at the institute including MOXIE, which is a technical club for students interested in coding, The arts and cultural club at the institute is called JUNOON club. Moreover, there are many others clubs like MIT higher Education, Prakriti.
A number of fests are conducted at the institute like ‘UDGAM’ and ‘TECHMITI’.
