Starting My Journey in Zakir Husain College

Overall Rating
According to me, Zakir Hussian College is one of the underrated colleges of DU. Talking about my experience at the college so far, I am still new here at the college as I joined in 2024. However, I feel our college is stocked well with good academics and a great campus life overall.
 

Academics Rating
The reason why I have chosen this course is that I always wanted to study and know the impact that humans can make on animal ecosystem and population. Our academics are at par with any other DU college for that matter which offers this course.
Around Rs. 15,000 is the total fee that we have to pay every year. So, in total I have to pay around Rs. 60,000 and I will have a graduate degree from DU.
 

Faculty Rating
One thing for sure and that is that there is absolutely no problem with the faculties here. Faculties of our college always over perform and have the potential to give students a run for their money. Yes, my time is young at the college so far but I have interacted with almost 10 faculties and each one is one of a kind. Luckily, I haven't slipped from their eyes as I have always been on time for the classes and for the submissions too.
 

Placement Rating
Placement pathway is different for our course, as we don't get corporate jobs. Most of students who do this course end up being researchers or work with wildlife management organizations.
 

Hostel Rating
We don't have college hostels.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The area of the Zakir Husain College is compact. However, we have good canteen and a nice cafeteria too. A beautiful and air-conditioned library and a beautiful seminar halls too. We also have a Judo arena also. There is a ground in the sports, where students can engage themselves in the outdoor games such as football, etc.
 

Campus Rating
If one joins societies then I feel there campus life is complete. I am a part of our college's theatre society ‘Aman’ and we have meetings and workshops almost daily. Just like this, there are dance and debate societies as well. Last month we also had our annual fest called ‘Zeenat’. In case of sports facilities, our college organizes many tournaments and sports fests for the games like Judo and football. Therefore, we are mostly done by 2 PM as all our lectures are done by then. Post that, we get ample time to stay and chill at the campus which we usually do.

    Zakir Husain Delhi College provides a decent experience to its students. The college has excellent faculties but its study places like classrooms, library, and common rooms need improvement.     Being in a college of University of Delhi that is Zakir Hussian College, gives the experience of studying in a prestigious college of India.
