RGUKT Basar's Unique Admission Process

The overall experience at RGUKT Basar is really amazing. We find a lot of good friends, friendly faculty, and a great peaceful atmosphere. The infrastructure here is really amazing. This institute is different from others in many ways. Many institutions take students based on money or merit irrespective of their background. Here the students are selected for admission based on tenth class merit and priority is given for rural youth. So this is why I find this institute different from others.

The course I chose is 6 year integrated B.Tech, where first two years are for Pre-University Course and next four years for B.Tech. Eligibility criteria for admission are that students from rural government schools, model schools with high merit in their tenth class. The students are supposed to apply for the admission when admission notice announced. The applications are filtered based on tenth GPA and rural background government schools. The exams are frequent for one month. Academics are really good and they prepare me for real life challenges in many ways. we learn a lot of things from academics, which I can apply in my day to day life.

Actually, students from rural category and from reserved castes get scholarship and they have no need to pay fees. students whose parents are in government sector have to pay yearly Rs. 40,000. In that, mess fee is Rs. 15,000 per year. Tuition fee is Rs. 10,000 per year. Students from global category are also need to pay fee.

Faculty members who teach us are extremely good. Most of them completed their M.Tech from IITs. They are very much talented and give their best for the students. They use Black board marker projector for teaching. The problem solving ability of teachers is very nice and strong. The student to teacher ratio is 40:1. They are very friendly and easily available.

In our campus, there is a TNP stands for training & placement cell, which trains final year students for placements. It helps lot of us in gaining experience for interviews. Placements will be held in fourth year so this cell will train students of third year so that they can excel in fourth year. Renowned companies visit our campus. Packages offered are varied from skills possessed by students and their talent. I am currently in second year, so not experienced placements yet.

Yes, RGUKT Basar offers residential facilities in campus itself and there is no concept of day scholars here. Everyone must stay in his or her respective allotted hostel. There are total 6 hostels. Three hostels are for boys and three for girls each consists of four floors. Each floor has nearly 75 rooms. Each room consists of six students. Boys’ hostels and girls hostels are separate. Mess food is not that good but ok. Quality is average and quantity is nice. Hostel fees for students who get scholarship are not there but other than, those students have to pay 15000 per year. Hostel timings are upto night 12. There is security at main gate and we can come and go at any time with a valid reason to any place in the campus itself. Overall Hostel experience is good.

Our college’s infrastructure is good. We have three academic blocks and three other blocks for engineering students based on their Branch. Campus size is nearly 250 acres. Classrooms are nice and seating capacity is 60 students approximately. There are two libraries. Each department has their own seminar hall. There is a student activity centre i.e. SAC where students related activities are held. Coming to sports there are two grounds: Satavahana and Kakatiya. There is a hospital for us who are free and no fees collected for treatment. My favorite place here is SAC and the facilities here are good.

Campus life is actually amazing. I found very nice friends and roommates here. This friendship is for life long. Campus is very pleasant and the environment here is actually peaceful and great. College crowd is nearly 9000 students. There is a club called code club for CSE students and as I am a CSE students, I will use this club. Extracurricular activities are also arranged in our campus. Every year Ugadi event and Diwali event will be organized by hope house. Recently Techfest is also confirmed and we are excited for that. Campus life is wonderful. It gave me more things to learn other than studies.
