Overall Rating
JSS College of Pharmacy has decent infrastructure but can work more on its placements. Some faculties are good. People coming from outside South India should adjust with the mess food. Fruits are given everyday. A gym has been made for the girls recently. Renovation is still going on for development of the campus. I would suggest coming here only if one can handle cold weather. It has NIRF-ranking 4, which might help.
 

Academics Rating
I chose B.Pharm, as I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. Students are expected to write an entrance exam by the college and attend an interview if applying for masters. The exams are conducted semester wise for B.Pharm, M.Pharm, and yearly pattern for Pharm.D. You have to be your own strength and not expect anyone here to help you out or be sympathetic.
The fee would range around 10 Lakh including hostel for Master’s and around 12 Lakh for Bachelor’s degree. Pharm.D is on the expensive side. Tata scholarship is given every year for students with 8.5CGPA and above. It can range between Rs. 50,000 to 1 Lakh depending on the decision of the management.
 

Faculty Rating
Overall, everyone is hard working and knowledgeable. I prefer speaking to the young faculties because they are more polite and understand our mindset. There are faculties with PhD degree and can teach us to write articles for review and research. The classes have smart boards and not chalk boards.
 

Placement Rating
Placements depend upon the need of the students. One can also contact the faculties for referrals. Students are placed in Pfizer, Syngene, and other pharmaceutical industries. Some students also work as faculties here after their graduation.
 

Hostel Rating
JSS College of Pharmacy has hostels for girls, boys, and staff quarters for faculties and non-teaching staffs. Mostly the people who work here are South Indian. The food is quite difficult to adjust with but one can try. Hostel charges are 1.15 Lakh for a year and it is not fixed for each year. For girls the outing timings are strict. There are 3 days of outing in a week, and on other days, the girl student can take permission if needed.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is very small but clean. They are building it to expand the size of the campus. Recently a gym has been provided for girls. Boys have gym. Each room has to accommodate 4 members, which is difficult. The charges for 2-member room are too high. There is a small canteen, which has few options. The classrooms have benches for 3 people to sit together. My favorite place is outside the college in a café called Willy's.
 

Campus Rating
College has so many students. Once in 2 years, a fest is organized for which only participants can go to Mysore. The college has a 7-day Pharmacy week once a year. Festivals like Pongal, Ganesh Chaturthi are also celebrated.
