All About KMM Jaipur: Pass-out Student’s Perspective

Overall Rating
Kanoria PG Mahila Mahavidyalaya is a well-established college, affiliated with University of Rajasthan and NAAC accredited. It provides a range of UG and PG degree courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, and professional courses in Computer, Management, and Law. Faculty is well educated and supportive. The college is well known for its academic excellence, discipline, women centered education, extracurricular activities and a good campus life. Equal importance is given to the student's safety. The campus is ragging free.
 

Academics Rating
I did my graduation in History, Geography, and Political Science. Admission is solely based on class 12th percentage. Curriculum is in accordance to the University of Rajasthan. Exams are conducted in semester system with an internal test in the mid of the semester. Exam centers are allocated by University in different universities. Regular workshops, conferences, and seminars give the additional benefits to the students. Student friendly tours are also conducted as per the course needs.
Since the college gets fund from Kanoria Trust, the fee is more on the affordable side. Depending on the courses, college fee varies. For BA it was Rs. 15,000 per year. However, additional fee is paid for exam application form released by college. Scholarships are also given in different categories such as sports, academics and to the students with single parent. For scholarships, necessary procedures must be followed.
 

Faculty Rating
The College strives for academic excellence and for this, it has experienced and well educated faculties. The HODs have a PhD degree. other teachers are also net qualified. Subjects with practicals have lab assistants to support the students in gaining practical knowledge. Professors are supportive. They also give personal career counseling.
 

Placement Rating
The college has active placement cells in the field of management and computers. Companies like Wipro, ICICI banks, d Flipkart do come for placement interviews. However, placements are available but are very less. Most of the students from Arts, Commerce, and Science opt for higher studies or look for jobs independently. College need to tie up with different companies for recruitment for students.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel is present within the college campus with capacity of around 200 to 250 students. Hostel rooms have the selection process similar to admission in courses. Merit list is released and the room is allotted based on that. Each room accommodates 3 to 4 students. Rooms are available as both air-conditioned and none air-conditioned. Entertainment programs are held regularly. Due to limited number of rooms in hostel, student chooses paying guesthouses nearby college campus as well.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college building was made in 1965 and is still well maintained. KMM Jaipur has the basic amenities like well-stocked library, science labs, music and dance rooms, sports facilities, auditorium, cafeteria, water aquifers, etc. Classrooms are spacious and well ventilated. College campus also has swimming pool and a gymkhana. Classrooms and labs are still mostly on the traditional side. Improvements in the infrastructure are required.
 

Campus Rating
College life in Kanoria is a memorable one. College fest called ‘Kasturi’ is held every year where different universities also take part. Elections for student union are held on regular basis and there campaign time is fun. College has different clubs such as literary club, dance &music, art & craft, environment, sports, and fashion from where a student can choose according to their own interests. National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corps (NCC) are also present here. Farewell, fresher’s, and cultural nights are well organized.

    My overall experience at Kanoria PG Mahila Mahavidyalaya was average. I joined the college in 2021 to pursue UG degree. I have done Bachelor in Arts. Talking about the college campus and infrastructure, it is spacious having different grounds and areas for different sports and activities. The classrooms are below average, as the strength of students was always more than the number of seats.     Kanoria PG Mahila Mahavidyalaya is only girl’s college located in JLN Marg, Jaipur. It is one of the most popular colleges in Jaipur for girls and is a part of Rajasthan University. Every year, the college accommodates more than 7,000 students. Apart from this, the college also accepts international students from all around the world.
