Oriental Institute of Science and Technology: Added Many Colours to My Academic Journey

Overall Rating
Engineering to me was purely because of my elder brother who finished his engineering and made me feel that this is the only course which has some scopes. I had some doubts and concerns but thanks to Oriental Institute of Science and Technology, Bhopal as all those vanished in just a month. If one thinks engineering is boring then I would recommend them our institute as we have more fun than studies. So well balanced academics here that one has liberty to do all that he/she wants.
 

Academics Rating
In the above section I said we have more fun but it's not that academics are easy. It's just because they are so well guided and balanced that we don't feel the pressure. Classes are dot on time and nobody's allowed to skip them on purpose. Attendance of 80% in both theory and practical are mandatory. Industrial projects are given to us and they are monitored by them too. Our exam timings are little different from others as we have odd semester papers in January and even semester papers in June end.
Oriental Institute of Science and Technology has a very reasonable fee structure or I hope there's another word to it, because CSDS Engineering at Rs. 63,000 a year is unreal.
 

Faculty Rating
All faculties can’t be same. Some or rather most are student’s favorite for sure. Some give us tough times for no reasons as well. However, one can't take away the fact that is they are honest towards their job and their goal is to make students well educated. A hackathon happened a few days back and all the students participating in that were backed by our faculties to do well.
 

Placement Rating
Placements are also good at Oriental Institute of Science and Technology; I know this as one of my batchmates has been made placements co-coordinator. She seeks her senior’s help and our placements cell has managed to bring a lot of big names to our campus. Our Alumni network too so has become strong that nearly 70 percent students now have campus placements through Oriental Institute of Science and Technology.
 

Infrastructure Rating
If one thinks having acres and acres of land like IITs is the first criteria to call a campus good, then in my eyes it's the academic and recreational facilities that makes a campus good. After COVID the institute has a drastic change. Not just labs but even Indoor sports facilities which are often overlooked have been upgraded too. New small blocks for workshops have also been installed and a world class auditorium too has been made to make sure that our campus doesn’t lag behind in terms of infrastructure.
 

Campus Rating
Holi is coming and we have Holi celebrations at the institute. The point is every festival and institutes own events are so many that whichever art form you know you can put that to display here. Societies of Oriental Institute of Science and Technology have played a crucial part in this as they are the ones who have brought the right people forward. Hence, our institute is full of opportunities and one can learn a lot of things while having fun at Oriental Institute of Science and Technology campus.

    Overall this institute is not for someone who has an expectation of all fun and enjoyment in college, you can get good academics and opportunities, but they are really strict with their curriculum and management. This institute is well reputed in our city that is Bhopal and is also well recognised among some major companies.     Yes, OIST Bhopal is not a tier-1 institute but it is still a institute that can be considered as a rebound if one has failed to get a tier-1 institute.     I looked at all the career options and institutes during the breaks of 12th. I guess I was late and therefore couldn't apply for the entrance exams to get into tier 1 institute. I agree that Oriental Institute of Science and Technology is a tier-2 institute but in two tiers, it is perhaps one of the best.
