Shoolini University Stands Out for Biotechnology Studies

As we all know Shoolini University has a natural plus point of being calm and pleasant by being in the lap of Himachal. Students studying here really have positive impact on their mental life. The placement criteria are also good along with the extraordinary infrastructure. AI block has free access to computer labs. We are trained every semester in different seminars and programmers for placement. Student exchange program is remarkable for worldwide approach.

I chose to pursue B.Tech Biotechnology at Shoolini University as I wanted to study biotech and its application further. Requirement to enroll in this course is to pass an aptitude test and have passed 12th class. Admission process is rather simple and easy as we are provided with a guide to help in this procedure. We can pre book our seats or come here in the campus and then proceed with our admission. Exams are frequently taken in my course. We at least give 3 term exams in each semester along with presentations, quiz, group discussions, assignments and practical viva. We also are prepared with a necessary credited Sprint course which helps us in building our social and communication skills.

The fee of B.Tech Biotechnology is Rs. 1, 22,000 per semester and Rs. 2, 44,000 yearly. Overall tuition fees for 4 year program will be Rs. 10, 18,000. Registration and admission charges are one time payable of Rs. 10,000. This fee excludes the hostel charges. Scholarships are available on merit basis. Sports quota and many more students can apply for it and grab this opportunity.

At Shoolini University, at starting we are provided with a mentor and research guide so as to help us in further studies, as well as when personal guidance is needed. Faculty of this department is extremely talented and experienced providing a good exposure in practical and research aspects. Teaching method include presentations and blackboards. Group discussions, assignment, and topic presentation are also conducted across the semester. Teachers and professors are helpful and very attentive towards the students. Even the IT department is very considerate and helpful towards the students and their problems.

A Placement cell is present in Shoolini University along with the sprint course. Sprint as mentioned as a skill development course through internships, research, and teaching course through which we overcome our social fears and grow socially. Some of the companies that visit university during recruitment are IBM, CITRIX, Cognizant, Polaris, LG Electronics, Genpact, Hughes Systique, Tata Hitachi, Code Brew, Net Solution, Nestle, Agro Parle, Britannia, The Times of India, The Indian Express, Hindustan Times, etc. The highest salary to be reached was 42 lakh per annum, minimum to be 4.2 lakh per annum, and the average to be estimated of around 4 lakh to 7 lakh per annum.

Hostel facilities are available at Shoolini University; the hostels here are managed by ‘Good Host Space’. It provides hostel residencies for girls and boys separately. It has access to wi-fi facilities 24x7, along with proper securities, mess and common area, laundry services 2 times a week and other required amenities. We have double, triple and quadruple occupancy, with common bathrooms and washrooms. Hostel timing remains from 5AM to 7PM in winters and 5 AM to 8 PM in summers. Personally I believe the food quality is average but they provide breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. Night mess can also be availed between 10 PM to 2 AM. We also have a mini café inside the hostel for basic needs and vending machines are all over the campus.

At Shoolini University we have different academic blocks. We have pharmacy department, law department, AI department, agriculture department, food and biotech department, hotel management, and etc. Classrooms have projectors and blackboards for teaching. We have classrooms and labs different seating capacity. As told previously we have an enormous library which has access to free Wi-Fi 24x7 and also have facilities like computers, kindles and free resources. We have many seminar halls like RTH and PDH halls. We have one open air theatre for organising different programs. We have Yuvraj Singh Stadium, basketball court, badminton court, volleyball court, an indoor gaming complex and a gym facility too. We have cafes and mess spread throughout the campus from central mess to restaurants flooding down. Medical room is also there for medical aid and ambulance for emergencies to nearby govt. Hospital. The whole campus has 24x7 free Wi-Fi. The labs and equipment provided in the lab are average but the exposure provided here is good.

Whole campus is friendly and anti ragging. Social life at Shoolini University is very happening especially at evening. We have trekking points as perk of hilly area. Multiple events and fests are held throughout the academic year as an opportunity to gather and socialise. There are many societies and clubs including, science, arts, crafts, photography, animal lover, mathematical, yoga, drama, literature, and many more interesting ones. I myself am a part of dance and drama club. Fests and events are major attraction we have many fundraising events and yearly hosted narvel fest, spring fest and literature fest. Campus life is amazing and serene. It is a total of positivity away from negativity.
