Career Opportunities and Placement Success at Amrita School of Pharmacy, Kochi

I choose Amrita School of Pharmacy as it was one of the top ranked colleges for pharmacy and I also had some interest in the course as it was related to Chemistry. The faculty and equipment are pretty good here and they are up to date. Amrita School of Pharmacy is different from other colleges as it has good discipline, as the teachers and principal of this college has set much strict rules and regulations as compared to other colleges. This also includes a strict dress code for uniform.

The course I choose is B.Pharm as I had interest in Organic Chemistry and I also had some interest in Biology. I wanted to take this course as it had a very good prospect in future. There is a test which is conducted by the Amrita School of Pharmacy for these courses it's called an EE l exam. The exams are conducted in a digital mode. The process of admission is based on the marks scored by the students in the exams. The academic curriculum is pretty straight forward. It follows all the rules and regulations and helps you to become a better Pharmacist.

The fee structure at Amrita School of Pharmacy for the students is Rs. 1, 50,000 as tuition fee and Rs. 68,000 for hostel and mess. This fee is for one year.

The faculty in the college is pretty good. They are very helpful. They also help you out in the assignments and will help you out whenever you need the help. They also are very educated and good in English and Malayalam. They are friendly and will help you out in academic problems and in life problems as well. There are about 20 to 25 staff members present and there are four batches of B.Pharm student and three batches of family students present in the college. Each batch of B.Pharm contains 60 students each and in Pharm.D the batch will be of 30 students each.

Amrita School of Pharmacy has very good placement opportunities. They have a dedicated placement officer present in the college. The most common companies that visit for placements are GSK and Dr. Reddy. Sun Pharma and Apollo Pharmacy also come in for placements. The average package is around from 2 lakh per annum to 4-5 lakh per annum. I am currently studying here and I am not yet placed in any company.

The college provides hostel facilities with mess. The hostels are pretty good but the mess is okay. The environment in the hostel is pretty good it has a friendly vibe all over. The washrooms are pretty clean and hygienic. The hostel timings are you have to enter the hostel before 9:00 or else there will be serious complaints given. The boys and girls hostel are separated. There are volleyball courts, table tennis court, and badminton court in the hostel. There is a gym also present for the students who want to work out. The hostel fee is Rs. 68,000.

The college is present near the Amrita Hospital and it is present near a place which is about 20 minutes away by walking. It’s a well connected area. It is a city area basically there are nice shops and restaurants nearby. Amrita School of Pharmacy has a pretty good infrastructure. Due to the presence of the hospital there will be Med-Card given which will be like used when you need to get hospital. You will get Rs. 2,000 or so on the card which you can use on the medical expenses. The volleyball court and the football ground that we have are pretty good and a lot of other sports are also played in these courts. The security and environment in the college is also pretty good. The infrastructure present in the college is absolutely great and is up to date. Labs are also available here for each department.

Overall the campus experience is pretty good. There are securities checks and measures taken for students. The campus is large. Different events are also organised throughout the year these are organised for the students to enjoy and relax.
