ICFAI University Tripura Fees, Scholarships, and Admission Process

As I was a tech enthusiast and ICFAI University provides the B.Tech course for lower fees than the other private institutes in India, so I opted for this university. My overall experience I would to like to share is the faculties are average but some of them are just great. The campus is good and beautiful. The hostel rooms are good and the mess food is decent. But one thing, I would like to share is you'll get very less time for self-improvement as the course curriculum is very hectic and most time is spent in doing assignments and projects.

I've opted in B.Tech Computer Science & Engineering course at ICFAI University as I love tech and coding. I would say that the university doesn't provide that much knowledge about tech or coding, if you're interested on your own, knowing your field you can explore. For entry, you have to just register for the course you want to take and pay the registration fee of Rs. 500 and then the admission fee of Rs. 20,000 and caution fee of Rs. 10,000 (which is refunded after your course completion). You can give the program fee later on within one month, which are Rs. 55,000 per semester in our case. Eligibility criteria are you have to pass class 12th with 55% for general / OBC and 45% for SC/ST. In each sem 3 exams are conducted, the internals, the mid-term and the end-term. Academics prepare us only a little bit for real-life challenges.

The year-wise fee of my course is Rs. 55,000 Per Semester. The tuition fees are Rs. 55,000 Per Semester. Admission fees are Rs. 20,000, registration fees is Rs. 500 and Caution fees is Rs. 10,000 (Which Will be refunded after the Course Completion). Scholarships are Provided for Students getting higher than 8 SGPA. If a Student Gets 8+ SGPA then his/her will get 25% scholarship from the program fee of the semester and the person with 9+ SGPA will get scholarship of 40%.

The faculty members are good. Some of the faculties teach at great level but some faculties are bad. I mean their teaching method is not good as we don't get what they teach in the class. The background of faculties is great as almost everyone is iit graduates. Problem solving abilities are average, as I mentioned earlier some is good but some of them are not. The teacher-student is almost 1:15 at the university. Bonding with some of the faculties is just great but with some it is average.

The placement cell is decent in ICFAI University. They help us in our final or pre final year for acquiring jobs and how to prepare for the interview. Renowned companies like Wipro, Infosys, etc. visit our campus for recruiting. The highest package offered was 10 LPA and the average package ranges from 4-5 LPA.

Yes, the hostel facilities are available at ICFAI University. The hostels rooms are decent and number of students in a room are 2. Mess facilities are average and the food quality is also average. Different sports events are also organised in the hostels like the cricket, football, chess and carrom tournaments. Yes, girls and boys hostels are separating. Hostel fees including mess fees are Rs. 34,200 per semester which may also deduct depending on the no. of days you're staying in the hostel. You have to enter the hostel within 10 PM and the university campus within 8:30 PM. Yes, the hostel experience is good. As you cannot expect home treatment in the hostel and it is fun with friends in hostel.

There are a number of academic blocks in the campus. The infrastructure is good and they are renovated almost every 3 months. Campus size is not very much but not as that less also. The locality is also good. You can find rents there, if you're not willing to live in the hostel. Classrooms are good with smart boards and speakers. Seating capacity is around 120. Library is also good as it has a great collection of books and journals. There are good labs, 2-3 seminar halls, and auditorium and conference hall in the campus. Many canteens are there in the campus. Sports facilities provided are also good and there are many tournaments also organised in the campus. Medical facilities are also provided. Bus facilities are also there and free bus facilities are provided to hostellers in the weekend from campus to nearest city Agartala. The sports ground and the park are the most favorite parts in the university campus.

The overall campus life at ICFAI University is great as they have created very fresh environment all over the campus with beautiful gardens and parks. The university crowd is very high. Yes, there are number of clubs and I’m the part of coding club and cricket club. Extracurricular activities like different fests and events are organised by the university for the refreshments of the students. Fests are Novato’s and Icaria, Novato’s is the fresher's welcome party and Icaria is a grand festival for all the students. My campus life experience is great.
