Shiv Nadar University Chennai: Institution for Meritorious Students

Overall experience in Shiv Nadar University is very good. This university only takes meritorious students into the university and there are no management seats here. In addition, management and faculty are also very nice. The main motto of university is teaching students. It is a unique university with excellent faculty and good placements.

I chose AIDS, which is top branch in B.Tech. To entry into this university, you must have to score minimum 75% in core subjects in IPE exams in 12th. After that, you have to qualify exam called SNUCEE followed by interview then you are eligible to get admission into this university. Exams are very frequent. The course is very hectic. Academics prepare me well for real life challenges and future problems.

Fee for all the courses in the B.Tech is same. Tuition fee is Rs. 3,00,000, hostel fee is Rs. 78,000, admission & CDC fee is Rs. 46,000 and mess fee is Rs. 3,500 (every month). Laundry fee and AC charges will be separate in the hostel.

Almost all the faculty members are IIT graduates and very talented. Many professors are from IIT Madras, which is one of the top institutes in the India. They generally teach using PPTs and board. The class is very interactive. Faculty can solve almost any problem of the students. Students can easily interact with teachers.

Infrastructure of Shiv Nadar University is very good because it is established recently. Campus size is 230 acres and is located near Chennai. There will be 60 students in every class. Classrooms are equipped with ACs. Infrastructure of classroom is also very good compared to other universities nearby this university. All the academic facilities are available and are maintained very high level. Canteen, sports, and medical facilities are very good. In university, there is one park, which is very attractive.

Overall campus life is very good and outstanding. University crowd is very less. There will be about 1200 students in all the four years of B.Tech and 1000 in other courses, making total student population in the university below 3000. There are many clubs in the university and I am in coding club, which is based on coding languages. There are many extracurricular activities and international level sports facilities. Fests are less though. There will be 3 fests per year. One fest is celebrated very grandly for 4 days. My experience is very good in the campus experience.
