Views of a Polytechnic Student in Thapar University

Overall Rating
Overall Thapar University is good as compared to other engineering universities. Here I get a better healthy and socioeconomic environment that made me feel very comfortable and inspires me to do best in my studies. Factors due to which I chose this course are far ahead of legacy of the university with history older than many others are universities & institutes in the country. The institute has outstanding placement records over the years.
 

Academics Rating
The course that I chose is Diploma in Engineering along with B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering. Entry requirements for this course are to qualify the admission test organized by the institute and after that, the B. Tech admission process is continued through the score in JEE Mains and the 10+2 board results. 50% seats are reserved for Punjab domicile students and 50:50 seats are filled through score of JEE Mains as well as 10+2 PCM score.
Fee is around 1.5 to 2 Lakh including the tuition, mess, and hostel expenses for two years and ahead, the fee would be 30 to 32 Lakh for the four years of B.Tech course.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty here at the campus is top notch and qualified with the minimum requirements to be able to teach in this premier institute. Mode of teaching is through PPTs during the lectures and through white or black boards during the practice sessions that are considered as Tutorials. Teacher to student ratio approximates to 50:1. The problem solving abilities of the faculty are very nice. They are very helpful in nature that makes studying more convenient.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels of the campus are one of the best among campus hostels in any of the engineering universities in the country.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is top notch and this is what Thapar is known for. One of the top ranked libraries among the countries is the university’s ‘Nava Nalanda Library’. Apart from this, it also has top quality and furnished classrooms make it very high class and top-notch premier institute. There are canteens of Sodexo in each academic block that makes it very convenient for the students. My favorite part of Thapar University is library.
 

Campus Rating
Overall, the campus life so far is awesome and each moment is very memorable. The crowd is healthy and there occurs a very healthy junior senior relationship unlike any other premier institutes of engineering. There are many societies and clubs that take different fields are cultural, technical or any other socioeconomic activities. Recently the annual fest "Saturnalia" has ended with a grand concert of renowned Bollywood singer Amit Trivedi.
