Malda College: A Good Option for B.Com in Malda

Overall Rating
My overall experience as a Commerce student is very satisfactory, but I cannot tell about other departments. It is one of the best colleges in Malda Town at it also situated near NH34 Rathbari. Therefore, it is very easy for students to commute here. It has a very good teaching staff, nice environment, and campus. There are CCTV cameras in the whole campus premises. It has also affordable course fee structure. It is also known for their cultural activities, NCC, and NSS.
 

Academics Rating
I am a commerce student in school, so I chose it. It helps me to understand our business and open lots of job-related opportunities. The curriculum is good. Other things depend on how you take the course. If you take it seriously, I think you are industry-ready and prepared to work. The semester examinations are not easy. This college follows CBCS syllabus. It is affiliated to University of Gour Banga.
Fee of B.Com is approximately Rs. 2,000 per semester including tuition fee and other charges. It can be slightly different from what I described. I think special discount in fee is provided to specific category students, if they can provide the documents. Yes, you can apply for Swami Vivekananda merit cum scholarship if, your family income is below Rs. 1,20,000 per year.
 

Faculty Rating
The teaching staff of Malda College is very friendly and approachable. Most of the teachers are from Kolkata University and understand Hindi as well as Bengali. It depends on how you take the course. If you take it seriously. It is also nice to have friendly teaching staff in a college. Yes, they use projector, black board, PPT presentation to teach and smart classes are also available.
 

Placement Rating
Approximately 90 to 120 students were placed in my course. Currently TATA and other banking companies are recruiting from our college. I have no idea about internships. Jobs for the posts like Accountant, Junior Associate, GST, etc., are offered during the drive.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, Malda College offers residential facilities such as hostel, girl’s hostel, etc. I really do not know about hostel and hostel room availability. However, boys and girls hostel are separated from each other, as well as both have different building in college campus. I do not have any personal experience of staying at the hostel. The mess facility is also provided. Mostly Bengali food is available in the mess.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Yes, there are smart classes as well as a library. You can collect most of the study material from library. There is one football ground and two other grounds. The college has all the academic facilities like library, labs, computer labs, seminar hall, auditorium, and conference hall. You can also buy food from canteen, good medical facilities, and security guard is also available. Survey, educational visit and other learning opportunities, which complements your academic experience. Malda College is just 10 minutes away from Malda Sadar Hospital.
 

Campus Rating
Environment in the campus is very healthy and peaceful. College crowd is moderate but sometimes it gets very crowded but good. There are no clubs here but a student union available, and open for all students to join. Many extracurricular activities are organized by different departments. Yes, annual function, annual sports day, and other events like independence Day celebration, etc. I really enjoyed my college days as well as these events.
