Fees and Scholarships at Amrita Amritapuri Campus

My friends are studying in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Amritapuri that is the main reason I chose it. The campus is also near to my house. I also heard there are better placements, which other private colleges do not offer. The campus is situated near the bank of a lake and there is an Ashram of Amritanandamayi, which you cannot find in other institutions, which are situated in the crowded areas of the city. These are all the factors that made me choose Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeeth.

I chose Bachelor of Technology in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, which has many promising opportunities in present and future. The course is so hard that one should really think about it before choosing it otherwise you will end up writing supplementary exams repeatedly. For the admission, you have to appear for an entrance test called AEEE, which will decide your scholarship slab. After qualifying the entrance test, you will go through the allotment process by which you will know which scholarship slab are you in and have to pay the fee accordingly. After all the payment process, you have to appear for the document verification process. There are two main examinations the mid semester and the final semester examination. Until now, The academics are so promising even applying it in the real life.

For Electrical & Electronics Engineering, the non-scholarship fee is 3 Lakh per year. For slab, 3 and 2, it is 2 Lakh per year. For the first slab, you only have to pay 1 Lakh per year. The registration fee is about Rs. 11,500 and caution deposit is Rs. 10,000. The above-mentioned scholarship is Amrita Institute’s Entrance Exam based scholarship.

The faculties are PhD professors and most of them need to improve their teaching skills. Their method of teaching includes white board and PPTs. The faculties are average in problem solving, they just show the question in the PPT and show the already solved solution. The teacher to student ratio is 1:5. Some of the faculties are so friendly and tell their stories while others just lecture and go.

The whole campus including hostel facilities has about 80 acres of area. The campus is in a very environmental friendly area. There is a lake, and the sea is nearby. The classrooms are very good and all the desks have charging point, which is very cool. Library is very helpful, there are a lot of books related to the course, and there are other storybooks in the library. Labs and lab equipment are new and modern. There are more than four conference halls and event halls. Canteen food is good, there is a campus ground nearby, and a clinic is there. Security facilities are also good. My favorite spot is the green lawn to the side of the entrance to the campus.

Campus life is overall good but my classmates are average. College is so crowded sometimes but it is okay. I am part of Amuse club that is an environmental related club. There are many other clubs in the college. There are extracurricular activities such as tech fest and sport fests. The main event is the Vidyut, which is upcoming May 23th to 25th. There are many other cultural fests. My experience is overall good except the couples in some green areas where I go to relax.
