Fee Structure and Scholarships at SS Jain Subodh PG College

Being an Alumni of SS Jain Subodh PG College, I would definitely recommend this college to those who can't afford to go in big colleges because of high fee structure and the unbearable pressure and exposure they offer. I chose to be the part of this college because it offers the best of their courses with highly qualified faculty, good infrastructure, environment, locality and that too at very affordable fees. I personally visited many colleges for pursuing BCA, but somewhere the faculty was not good, somewhere the fees was too high, and somewhere the infrastructure was not maintained, all this made me to chose SS Jain Subodh PG College over others.

I chose BCA as IT sector was on boom and still the same. Anyone who scored above 60% in 12th can opt for a technical degree like me. I was only asked to submit 10th and 12th mark sheets and then assigned a counselor along with brochure to clear all my queries regarding the field I wanted to pursue and whether it matches with my caliber or not. To prepare better, I used to give pre-university exams conducted 2 months before final exams, but these were not mandatory to attempt. Academics prepared me academically but the inter and intra-college activities helped me nourish my hobbies like public speaking and sports.

SS Jain Subodh PG College has an optimal fee structure; they do not work with the motive of filling their pockets. In fact SS Jain Subodh PG College comes up with lot of scholarship opportunities up to Rs. 5,00,000 per student for the needy ones. Being a BCA student, I have paid Rs. 20, 000 per year as college fee and Rs. 1,000 per year as registration fee which is quiet affordable.

I was taught by highly educated faculty who was well-versed in the technical field. They used to teach us via blackboards, smart boards, and every Saturday used to be reserved for a group discussion for whatever taught in the week. The teacher student ratio was 1:30 that was quiet manageable. The unforgettable thing for me about the faculty was their availability and ability to solve the doubts in a way that the same thing never bothers again. The best part was that the Teachers used to be very frank with us, I had a very strong bond with some of them during that time that helped me to better develop myself in and out.

According to me, the placement cell at SS Jain Subodh PG College was not up to the mark. They used to call very basic companies who used to hire at a very minimal pay scale. I was called for an interview via college in Genpact, but I was offered a very low package. This not only affected my confidence but also pushed me to doubt my capabilities as a BCA graduate. The cell help students in landing jobs via workshops but do not much focus on bringing good packages. The highest package I was offered as BCA graduate was 3LPA.

No, the college does not offer hostel facilities. The college is located in the mainstream, so those who take admissions can look for PG or rented rooms nearby. So, offering such facility do not seems required.

When I was a part of SS Jain Subodh PG College family, the campus was not so big to talk about, it was average in size. Classrooms used to be good in size, properly ventilated, equipped with proper furniture, and smart boards. There used be two libraries, one on ground floor and other on top floor equipped with good seating capacity, books as per students requirement, there were medical rooms, sports club with all equipment in good condition, canteen, transport facilities, etc. There were well-equipped labs, 2 seminar halls with a capacity of 400 each, 1 Auditorium with 1000 seats. The one thing I liked the most in the infrastructure is maintaining cleanliness, clean corridors, clean washrooms, classrooms, etc. The one thing that complemented our course is availability of smart boards in every classroom.

According to me SS Jain Subodh PG College crowd was not so my type. Apart from this, the college life was good; we used to take part in annual college fest, managing it. I was part of the activity club, where I was responsible for conducting extra-curricular activities like fest, dance and drama, sports activities, debates, and during these times of the year we used to have a lot of fun and laughter.
