KMC New Delhi: One of the Best in DU

Overall Rating
My first and foremost reason for choosing this college was its faculty. This college has the best of faculty, which focuses thoroughly on each student and is approachable. KMC New Delhi promises best education from qualified faculty with nice environment. Their knowledge base and experiences enrich our college life as well. Overall, it's a nice experience.
 

Academics Rating
The course I'm studying is English (Hons.). The eligibility for this or any other course in KMC is CUET score. A score of 90 percentile could land you here. An interest in literature is not entirely required as I myself was a non-literature enthusiast and my interest sparked after I started this degree. You'll go through some tests and assignments at regular intervals that would help you identify and analyze the areas where you lack and the professors are extremely reliable to guide you through your distress.
The fee for my chosen course is around Rs. 14,000 on average that is to be deposited yearly along with examination to be deposited semester wise. The discounts are available for reserved categories like SC/ST, OBC, or PwD. No discounts for general category whatsoever. As far as scholarships are concerned, there are ample available for PwD but not for unreserved categories.
 

Faculty Rating
As mentioned earlier, the faculty is well-read and quality to reach. Their pedagogical approach is efficient and friendly. All the teachers are at least MA qualified. Some of them are even abroad educated with PhDs in specific areas. Their style of teaching is what makes the learning fun. They approach each text from various points of views. They go above and beyond the syllabus to make the learning enhancing and encompassing.
 

Placement Rating
We do have one of the most active placement cells in DU. It does offer a package of over 8 LPA minimum, though it depends on the job sought after by the student. It does help with the future though I have limited knowledge in this regard. But I can still vouch that it does offer wholesome internship opportunities and nice placements in companies like Zomato.
 

Hostel Rating
KMC New Delhi does offer accommodation but it only has boy’s hostel so girls will have to find for themselves. Since I'm a girl and boy’s hostel doesn't concern me I never bothered about its number of rooms. The mess has a decided menu in place and it's edible enough. It provides meals for three times a day and evening snacks. The fees for hostel is maybe around Rs. 40,000.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The library doesn't seem to have all the books of the updated curriculum. The college is currently under renovation so hopefully it would turn out to be well designed with a new and well-equipped auditorium apart from academic auditorium and seminar hall, which are already in place. The blocks are clean but washrooms are not up to the mark.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life is promising. The campus has got nice attractions like Kamla Nagar market, Hudson Lane, Majnu ka Tilla, and Vishwavidyalaya being another hotspot to hangout. The overall vibe of the college changes during the fest season. It usually starts from February and goes on till April. The college holds department and society fests along with college annual fest every year. Every college society organizes various types of events, which are engaging and enriching at the same time for students to participate in to broaden their horizons.

    I Think my College, Kirorimal College New Delhi, is one of the finest College of India which offers multiple courses with such renowned faculties and their experience.     My overall experience at Kirorimal College, University of Delhi has been good till now. It has a diverse set of students from all streams - Commerce, Science and Arts. It has a good crowd though it is politically active. It is situated in North Campus. You can easily sign up for events happening in the nearby colleges and take part there. You'll get to interact with other people. The College’s back gate opens in Kamala Nagar. So, you can find PGs nearby. It was in my top 5 preference list.... Read Full Review
