DTC Greater Noida Academics and Campus Life in B.Tech CSE

I joined Delhi Technical Campus as a first year student in B.Tech CSE and my experience so far has been a mixture of positive and challenges. While the college has some good aspects, there are also some areas where improvement is needed. As my college is affiliated with GGSIPU which I think is a plus point for this college so, it is kind of a semi government college.

The course that I chose is B.Tech CSE as I am really interested in computers since childhood. The B.Tech curriculum at DTC is balanced, covering both theoretical and practical subjects. The first year mostly focuses on basic sciences, mathematics, and introductory engineering subjects. Some subjects feel relevant, while other seem outdated and need upgrading. The eligibility criteria are JEE Main and 60 percent in PCM in your 12th boards. I got here through counseling. There are two midterms and one end term that you have to give to pass the exam. The class tests are also held regularly and teachers teach us very well. The uniform is necessary for everyone in 1st year.

The total fee for B.Tech 1st year students is Rs. 1,56,100 for one year. This includes fee amount, admission, and registration fee. They have one paid course of Rs. 11,000 extra, which is for CSE and ECE students. This is a private college so; no reservation is here for any category. No, any scholarships are available here.

The faculty at DTC is knowledgeable and supportive with some professors being well experienced while others just follow the syllabus without much interaction. Some teachers explain concepts very well. Doubt solving sessions are very useful, and students often need to rely on self-study or online resources. Some teachers give so many assignments. The teacher-student ratio is 1: 65 at college. The experience and bonding with faculty members are very good. they are very helpful if we respectfully approach them. The overall experience is good with all the faculty members.

The placement scenario at DTC is below average. Most companies that visit are mass recruiters, IT firms, core companies, and startups. CS/IT students generally have better placement chances, as more software companies visit. Internship opportunities are limited and students often have to find them on their own. The average package is around 5 LPA, with top offers reaching 23 LPA. On-campus placements are decent, but high paying jobs require extra efforts and off- campus applications. The placement cell is somewhat active but can improve. As I am a first year student so I do not know much about placement call, I only heard it from our seniors. More core companies should be invited. Placement training should focus on technical skills, coding and soft skills. Better internship support and industry tie-ups would help students gain real-world experience. If you work on skills, certifications, and off campus opportunities, you can land a good job.

The hostel facilities here are well maintained and comfortable, making it a good choice for students staying on campus. The rooms are comfortable, with triple sharing options. Each room comes with 3 beds, study tables, cupboards, and fans/cooler for non-AC and fans/ AC for AC. The mess food is good and hygienic offering a mixture of both north and south Indian dishes/varied meals. Laundry facilities and water purifiers are available. Security is strict with CCTV everywhere. The hostel is well located inside the campus making it easy to reach classes. Entry and exit timings are strict but manageable. The total hostel fees for one year is Rs. 1,20,000 for AC and Rs. 1,00,000 for non-AC.

The campus is compact but well planned, making everything easily accessible. Despite the small size, it has a clean and green government with gardens, common sitting areas for students. Classrooms are well- equipped with projectors, comfortable seating, and proper ventilation. Labs are modern and functional. The libraries have a good collection of books, journals, and digital resources. Due to small campus size, sports facilities are limited. A gym is available for relaxation and fitness. Wi-Fi speed is decent, accessible in most areas. There are canteens, a medical center, and student lounges, making the campus comfortable.

The campus life is decent, depending on how actively students participate in activities. While campus is not very large, it has a friendly atmosphere where students can interact and socialize. There are festivals, cultural events, and tech fests, but the overall vibe depends on student. The college has various clubs. The student crowd is diverse with people from different states/nearby region. Peer interactions are friendly and group activities help in networking. Campus life at DTC is decent with a good student crowd, some engaging activities, and room for improvement in extracurricular involvement. If you are proactive, you can make the most of it.
