Overall Rating
Overall experience at the university is wholesome. VSSUT Burla is the oldest and first engineering university of Odisha. It is at the top in ranking of state government universities of Odisha. It provides vast opportunities to students including projects, internships and many more. It has a very big alumni network all over the globe. The university is famous for its academic exposure and providing the best of information to the students.
 

Academics Rating
I am pursuing B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. The university is best in core field like Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Core branches provide the maximum placement in this university and it’s known for the same reason. Students have to qualify JEE Main with a minimum 85 percentile to get a seat in this government university. After getting a seat, student has to report to the university for admission process and spot registration.
Fee for B.Tech per semester is nearly Rs. 18,000 and Rs. 36,000 for a year. It makes up to nearly Rs. 1,50,000 for 4 years.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties of VSSUT Burla are highly experienced. Most of them are IIT graduates and have completed their Masters and PhDs from prestigious universities like IITs, NIT Rourkela, etc. There are 2 semesters per year. Each semester has a mid sem and end sem. It has a strict curriculum. They have very good problem solving abilities, as they are highly experienced. They are strict as well as very friendly to the students also. Our bonding with the faculty members is very strong as they only guide us throughout our engineering.
 

Placement Rating
In our branch, maximum students were placed last year about 90% with a decent package. Top recruiting companies are JSW Group, Vedanta, Reliance, Tata Steel, etc. Highest package was offered from companies like Amazon and Cisco.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel infrastructure is decent. There is no wifi facility.But a student can acquire a LAN. Hostel mess is below average.There is strict hostel incoming and outgoing timings.Our labs are well designed with execellent resources.Each classroom has a smart board.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Classrooms are huge. In each class, the seating capacity is almost 80. Our university has an excellent library that has thousands of books. There are canteens and one cafeteria for the students and for the staffs as well. My favorite spot is the football playground and cafeteria. There are many labs having highly advanced instruments and machines.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is awesome. There are many technical, dramatic and sports clubs in our university. I am a part in our university's football club. Every month our university conducts extracurricular activities to engage the students for which they can enjoy and can take break from their studies. Each year there is an annual cultural and technical fest going on in our university also branch fests. The fest is named as ‘Samavesh Vassaunt’.

    My experience at the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla, Sambalpur, Odisha, is quite good until now. The seniors and juniors get along really well. The university is overall very good as it has a lot of clubs and activities to take part. The teachers are quite good in terms of teaching and support.     In terms of money it's awesome. Faculties are doing well. Campus life will be memorable. Many view points are also nearby. Mess food is better. You have to adjust yourself according to routine. In terms of placements, core branch have better opportunity than CSE. Many food stalls are also available along the college sides.     My overall experience was decent till now. Factors that made me choose this institute was It's 75 year legacy and alumni network. It has a big campus area of about 500 acres. Placement is decent and better than other state government colleges. Core placements are quite good. Faculties are good. Green campus. Hostels are decent. Mess food quality is decent.
