True Insights on National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Ranchi

Overall Rating
More than 2 years have been passed and institute life seems to be decent. National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology do not have a big campus area still the institute is worth taking admission due to its fees and low student intake. I choose this institute due to its advancement in manufacturing technology which is as per standards and need of the nation. They mainly focus on core sector rather than IT sector which makes this institute different.
 

Academics Rating
I choose Metallurgy as my department in which mainly they focus on Microstructures. Eligibility criteria is just a decent percentile in JEE Mains and more than 75% in 12th. Admission process is simple, just fill this institute in counseling and if you got it then do physical verification. Exams are taken twice per semester, one as mid sem and other as end sem. In real life practices and updated syllabus acts as a boon in understanding the concepts of materials around the surrounding.
As per the brochure of our batch 2022-26, the overall yearly fee is Rs. 1, 25,000 which includes tuition fees, mess fees, Wi-Fi, library, and other miscellaneous charges. Tuition fees per year are Rs. 64,200 while mess fee is Rs. 36,000. No readmission fees or any other registration fees are applicable once admitted in institute. Fees are same for all the category of students but they get scholarship on the basis of caste or home state. E-kalyan students get Rs. 84,000 per year as compensation while NSP students get the amount category wise in which maximum limit is Rs. 1, 25,000 which SC category students get.
 

Faculty Rating
Our faculty is well skilled because metallurgy is the prime branch of National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology. They have done their bachelor's, masters and doctorate from top institutions of India with more than 10+ years of teaching experience. Earlier they used to teach on board but as we moved to higher semester and due to complexity in syllabus they shifted to PPT slides. Student to teacher ratio is 5:1 nearly as our batch has more strength as compared to previous one where the ratio was 2:1.
 

Placement Rating
ILC is the main placement cell of our institute which remains active all the seasons due to ongoing placement of seniors and if completed then other course batches. They usually contact to the companies to either provide internship or visit campus to recruit students. Companies like JSW, Synergy, Vedanta, Tata, etc. visits every year to give decent package. Average package in metallurgy is 8 LPA while highest offered package was by Vedanta i.e. 13.95 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology provides year wise hostels to all the students. There exists 4 boys’ hostel for different year students and 1 girl’s hostel for all the B.Tech girls. They provide single seater rooms to students of 2nd year while in first year they provide you with double seater. Even though in girls hostel they have to accommodate in double or triple seater throughout their course due to low space availability. For boys the hostel timing is 10:00 PM while for girls it is 9:00 PM.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The major attractive structure in National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology is the administrative building which is at the centre of the institute with red colored structure. Campus size is 68 acres with more than 20 acres occupied as residential area. A decent library is there with old books, a small auditorium with only 200 students seating capacity is there. No canteen is inside the campus so one has to go outside campus for anything. Security is good due to the guards which are from Jharkhand police.
 

Campus Rating
Campus area is very small with only 68 acres and even less than 50 acres to be used by students. Crowd is very less and this is the major benefit. Earlier there used to be only two branches but from our batch there exist 4 branches still the overall strength per year is 250 which is very less as compared to other institutes. Various sports and cultural clubs are present in which students actively participate. Jink is the annual big fest that is organised every year in the month of April.

    This is one of the prestigious institutes in Jharkhand. Earlier, it was under Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT) but, today it is a deemed university.     NIAMT located at Hatia, Ranchi is filled with greenery all around. This institute is Asia's only institute that trains students in the field of Foundry and Forge technology. Even though it is a core branch based institute, with the evolution of Computer Branch in the institute, it has started a path towards IT with manufacturing skills.
