GCET Greater Noida: Admission Process, Fees

I chose GCET Greater Noida as it is a popular college. It also gives great exposure of academics and extracurricular activities. You can always try out your luck in startups, sports, technical skills, and many more things. The infrastructure is overall okay. The placement record has decreased in last 4 to 5 years.

I am a second year student of Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science. I am in the core section, therefore I know the exact reality of what happens inside the computer science department. The HOD is a decent person. She gives attention to polish the technical skills of the students and in general very cooperative. Eligibility criteria for admission are very low. I got 85 percentile in JEE from OBC quota and I was able to get CSE core in the 3rd round of counseling. Some of my friends have also taken admission through direct admission. The admission process is little hectic. It might take w complete days for you to get the whole process done. There are 2 CAEs (Unit tests) and a PUT (Pre university test more like Pre-Boards) within a semester. Attendance scene is chill. Students with 30% attendance are also able to give exams.

The fee for B.Tech CSE is Rs. 1,15,000 yearly. Additionally you need to pay Rs. 7,500 to AKTU as an exam fee. They will take money for ID card and miscellaneous stuff as well. It is advisable to fill FW seats in counseling, as those students don't have to pay the tuition fee. Financial aid and scholarship is available for students those who belong to OBC, SC or ST category. They get around 100% to 60% relaxation in tuition fees depending upon the category.

The faculty members are well educated. Some of the teachers are good and they will passionately teach the students. Some of the teachers need to improve the teaching skill though. Some teachers are approachable.

The average package ranges from 4 to 5 LPA that used to be higher in previous years but has decreased as college has gone through recession. Some people are able to crack 40 to 50 LPA package but they do so on their own the average package here is 3.6 LPA.

The college has residential facilities for both boys and girls. The girl’s hostel closes at 9:00 PM and after 7:00 PM. on the contrary, the boy’s hostel is much more relaxed and they are allowed to go out of the hostel at any time of the day or night. The quality of mess is okay. Hostel fee is around Rs. 1,35,000 for non-AC rooms and Rs. 55,000 for AC rooms. There are not enough rooms to accommodate all the students so most of the students stay outside the college campus in private hostels.

There are 5 blocks in the college. The campus is relatively small and it is located in Greater Noida. The nearest market is Jagat farm. Classrooms are decent and can accommodate 80 students at a time. Library is also okay but they keep only academic related books and the timings are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. they have one auditorium throughout the campus.

The overall campus life is not up to the mark. The crowd is decent from mostly UP and Bihar. It is more inclined towards technical aspects. You can join various clubs. There are performing and non-performing clubs that help you to polish your extracurricular skills. They host hackathons and technical fest in addition to Unifest and MUN. Unifest is the big fest.
