My Perception on IIEST Shibpur: Academics and Placements

Overall Rating
My experience in IIEST Shibpur is good. It is situated at the centre of Shibpur and very near to Kolkata. Our institute provides good placements and internship opportunities from 2nd year onwards by Google Amazon, Microsoft, and Infosys companies along with more research opportunities and facilities for PG and core branches. Our institute is mainly famous our research opportunities and facilities our institute has PG also.
 

Academics Rating
In IIEST Shibpur, Information Technology branch is too good, having a good placement record and internships. JEE Main is the entrance exam to this institute by getting a good percentile and rank. The professors here are too good as they are highly educated and experienced. We have to study a head for the semester exam as they seem to be tougher than other institutes and marking is too strict. We will have one mid exam and then one semester exam.
The fee structure is same and affordable. Per year, we have to pay 1 Lakh. There is 100% fee reimbursement for special category students.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty in our institute is too good. Every professor is highly educated and experienced. Their teaching style is also good. They teach mostly by presentations. The faculty is friendly. They are good and provide some research opportunities.
 

Placement Rating
Our institute provides good placements and internship opportunities from 2nd year onwards so that’s the reason for the people who are having a good placement and more good companies like Microsoft, Accenture, Google, Amazon give internships to us
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, IIEST Shibpur has many hostels the girls and boys hostel are separate food is good for 1st students they can prepare their mess menu daily. Hostel fee is also not too much high for 1st years the hostel in time is 8 PM.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Our campus infrastructure is good. We have a historical clock tower and a guesthouse for parents where they can stay in institute. We have 5 canteens and more classrooms. We have a 7 storied building and main academic building and we have many trees in our institute. Campus sized of this institute is around 117 acres.
 

Campus Rating
My campus life in IIEST Shibpur is too good. We can enjoy a lot here mostly in fests. We have many fests like departmental fests and festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, Sankranti, and Dussehra here are celebrated. We also organize two-day institute annual fest named ‘Rebecca’. We have many clubs like dance, singing, drama, drawing, and coding.

    IIEST is second oldest Engineering Institute in India. Alumni network is very strong and campus life is too good. Connectivity is also very good Howrah, Salimar and Sealdah stations are very near to the institute and airport is also less than 10 KM away. Research opportunities are too good and placements are also very nice.     IIEST shibpur (formerly known as Bengal Engineering College or BESU) comes under the tag of Institute of national importance. To get admission, you need to apply through JEE Mains AIR ranks. This institute provides all B.Tech, M.Tech and P.HD courses. It came at 46 positions in recent NIRF ranking.
