Choose Galgotias University, Greater Noida for B.Tech in Computer Science

There are many reasons for which I joined this university. The university is located in a quite great place when it comes to getting technical and work exposure. Delhi is really close and many travelling places are close by. Also, fests used to happen but now they are all declining both in quantity and quality. Overall my experience in this university till now has been average. I've indulged myself in extracurricular activities a lot and it has helped me gain some skills and make new friends. Clubs are the reason I can bear with my university life easily. At the end it’s all up to you and your views. Everyone has a different perspective. I might not like some things here but you may like it. All the best.

I opted for B.Tech in Computer Science because I am really interested in technology and want to learn about it at a higher level. The eligibility criteria of the university are not that tough it’s really easy. You just have to have a basic idea of the course you are opting for and it would be even better if you have prior experience in that field. I'd suggest everyone to go for courses they are really interested in and not just for name sake because at the end of the day, You'll have to bear with it for 3-4 years. The admission process at Galgotias University is quite simple so you don't have to worry about it just be patient. The semester exams are held twice a year and there are 2-3 internal exams conducted per semester. The academics are just the theory that will help you to practically indulge in real life problems.

The fees at Galgotias University are relatively lesser than other private universities. I paid around Rs. 1, 20,000 for one year. There are charges apart from this for hostel. You can apply for scholarship programs or fee waiver if you qualify a certain criteria required by those benefits. You could also reach out for private scholarships from different sites.

In general, the faculty members are just people who will teach you about that particular subject for an hour or two which is not enough to understand the subject deeply. It is really crucial to study everything by yourself. Here the doubts are solved only if you ask them. The teacher to student ratio is not up to the mark. Teachers are very less compared to students. Bonding with teachers is not that difficult if you are interactive enough and they are approachable.

The placement cell at Galgotias University is supportive but not that much. The placement for any university these days has downgraded so it’s not just this university's problem. The initiatives the university takes towards placement and skill development are not up to the mark. You'll have to learn on your own and do not completely depend on university for this.

The hostel is pretty average. The rooms are average. The food is enough to get by but lacks proper nutrition. The fees are quite high in my opinion considering the facilities they offer. If you have no extra luggage or hobbies like playing an instrument or extra stuff, then you would be fine with the room space.

The infrastructure is great and airy, It is not overly beautiful but the vibes are nice and not much intimidating. The campus size is great. You get a lot of walking space and there are really big grounds where you can play multiple sports offered by the university. The classrooms are average and they can be improved. The canteen is great. You can get a variety of things from there at reasonable prices. It’s a bit crowded at times though but there are food stalls available right outside the university so you could consider them as well. The teaching infrastructure is not that nice and can be certainly improved. My favorite place in university would probably be the auditorium because it’s comfortable and closed. It’s not that big but it’s better than the bustling outside.

My campus life so far hasn't been that happening. I’m an introvert who possesses some hobbies and interests which are not possessed by everyone. I couldn't connect with people at all during my first year but I joined university clubs just so that I could find people who share the same interests as me. It’s my second year and a lot of people know me but I only hang out with people of the clubs I'm in. They are really cool since we connect because of same hobbies. I'll 100% recommend joining university clubs because university is not just about studying it’s about living a whole new phase of your life and make it worth a while. One of my main reasons to join this university was how active they were with events and fests but the year I joined, the fests started to decline. Both the quality and quantity of the fests and events are on a declining streak.
