My Personal Thoughts on IP New Delhi

Overall Rating
Indraprastha College for Women is a great college with big names from all over India. It has a long history and has made many big personalities who have done amazing things in different fields. The campus is beautiful and gives a good environment for studies and growth. Teachers are supportive, and students get many opportunities to explore their interests. From academics to extracurricular, everything is well balanced. The college also focuses a lot on women empowerment.
 

Academics Rating
The academic schedule is quite hectic, with classes running from 8 AM to 5:30 PM. It becomes hard for last-year students to prepare for their Master's entrance. However, the teachers are really good. They always motivate us to do things practically rather than just learning theories. They encourage students to take up internships, especially research-based ones, to gain real experience. The focus on research is high, which helps in understanding concepts better. Though the workload is lot, the support from teachers makes it easier. Overall, the academic enviroment is demanding but also very helpful for growth.
Since the college is semi-government, the fee is a bit high compared to other government colleges. I had to pay Rs. 30,000 for the same.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is really good. All are PhD holders and have great knowledge in their subjects. All of them teach in an interesting way.
 

Placement Rating
I do not have much idea about placements since I am in the Psychology department. We are not usually placed until we complete our Master's. But yes, the college has a placement society named JEET, which shares internship-related information. I have heard from other students that it is quite helpful in finding good opportunities. Many students from other departments are placed through it. For psychology students, it mainly provides internship opportunities rather than full-time jobs.
 

Hostel Rating
Living in the hostel has its own benefits. Since it is inside the campus, you do not have to deal with the crowd of Delhi. Even if you wake up late, you can quickly get ready and run to class. But there are too many restrictions. I stay in KG hostel, a fee is around Rs. 17,000 per month, but facilities are average. The other hostel, IP hostel, is just outside campus and has AC on first and second floor, but fees is higher for those rooms. Hot water is only available from 6 to 8 AM and 6 to 8 PM, which is quite inconvenient. But yes, food is good and hygienic, which is a plus point.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of IP New Delhi is average. Classrooms are small. Washrooms need to clean on a regular basis. Each classroom only has two fans. Hence, the management needs to pay attention to upgrading the infrastructure.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is good. Since there are no boys, girls feel safe. The management of the college is conducting fewer events now as compared to past year. There are clubs that allow students to upgrade their skills.

    This college has been an absolutely amazing experience so far. I feel blessed to be part of such a good college. Since I was in the NEP batch, I gave CUET and got this college according to my preference.
