Puducherry Technological University: A Promising Institution with Room for Improvement

Overall Rating
The overall experience in Puducherry Technological University in academics is rigorous and stimulating. The faculty members are knowledgeable, approachable and passionate about teaching. The curriculum is well structured and focused on the both theoretical and practical aspects of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Factors that influenced my decision are reputation, accreditation, curriculum & specialisations, research, and faculty of the university. After reflecting on my experience at Puducherry Technological University I've identified some unique aspects compared with other universities.
 

Academics Rating
I am choosing Electricals and Electronics Engineering and motivation for choosing EEE is fascination with technologies and skills development, diverse application and constant innovation. Eligibility criteria in my university is to getting pass percentage in higher education and apply for CENTAC if you are from Puducherry or apply for JOSSA if from other states. Admission process in my university is such that they conduct three counseling and one mop-up counselling. Academics prepare for real life challenges.
At Puducherry Technological University semester exam fee for my course is Rs. 3000 and the Tuition fee is Rs. 13,851. No discount in fee is provided to specific category students. For availing the scholarships the students have to get mark above 85%.
 

Faculty Rating
In my department faculty are very much talented and providing lot of professional experience to students and the students become highly knowledgeable through that. Faculty qualification and experience is doctoral qualification, industry experience, Research background, etc. there are some professors who teach through board. The problem solving abilities of the faculty is good at Puducherry Technological University.
 

Placement Rating
Puducherry Technological University has an ATEL Centre. The students of this university are provided with good placement opportunities. ATEL cell provided regular companies details before they come. TCS, Capgemini, Accenture and Wipro are some of the organisations that visit the college for placement. The average package is 8 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
They are 5 Hostels in Puducherry Technological University. Each hostel has 140 rooms and each room has 4 students. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. Food here is average. Hostel fee is Rs. 75,000 per year. The Hostels are provided with CCTV cameras and timings are 5 AM -10 PM.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Academic block and structure are good for some department like CSE, ECE, IT and few departments like EEE, Civil, chemical are not that good. Size of the CV campus is 240 acres. The seating facilities in the classrooms are also good. Library and auditorium are very luxurious. There is a separate dispensary in the campus. My favorite place in my university is auditorium.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life at Puducherry Technological University is good. The crowd at the university is also good. There are NSS and Anti ragging committee also. Extracurricular activities and state level games competitions are also conducted here.

    My main reason to choose this university is that it is a government university with good placement records in the Union Territory of Pondicherry. The fee structure is also main factor to choose this university. Here you will get to have some free hours, which you can focus on other activities, which may or may not be linked to academics through which you can find your interests and create a career on it if needed....
