All About Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology

Overall Rating
The Institute is good for two core branches that are Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering. Tech branches are new here. The major factor for choosing this institute is it is an institute of National importance and its NIRF is 80 this year. The highest placement of petroleum branch is 25 LPA this year in ONGC of one student only. While, two students of tech branch got placed in phone pay. This year we are expecting more companies to come.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen the B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering. For admission you have to clear JEE Mains and JEE Advance Exam and at least 80 percentage in Class 12th. Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology has a separate counseling process and its form is released on institute website itself. There are 4 exams in one year or 2 exams per semester. There are also quizzes on regular basis. The real world application based projects are also given to the students.
The year wise institute fees is Rs. 25,700. The mess fee per year is Rs. 40,000. Merit cum scholarship of Rs. 50,000 is offered to the students every year according to CGPA. SC, ST and PwD are given a discount of 20 percentages. NSP, UP, and HDFC scholarship is given to students.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology are decent not that much good but some of the professors have excellent knowledge in their field especially chemical and petroleum branches professors. Many of the faculty members have completed their Ph.D from IITS, some teachers used to give notes or Ppt after the classes. There are tutorial classes also in our institute in which we have to solve problem sheets given by the faculty members. A separate senior is assigned to help you in solving tutorial problems.
 

Placement Rating
There is no training and placement office in Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology. Most on campus placements happen in chemical and petroleum branch. Many companies come for placement in core branch. After 3rd year tech students go to Bangalore campus. But placement is not good in Bangalore campus now.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, our institute provides hostel rooms and two students stay in each room. Separate table, bed, tube lights and shelf are provided to each room. Separate girls and boy’s hostel are there. Mess food is good but sometimes it is average also. Going outside the campus after 8 PM is not allowed.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology campus size is 49 acres. Institute is located outskirts of city. There is no proper market near the campus. There are small shops nearby. Campus is located in a village area. Library, labs of each branch, auditorium for function is present. In some classes seating capacity is 120. Institute has a separate ambulance facility for going to health center which is in campus. Institute also has its own bus facility for going to Raebareli on weekends. There is one cafeteria and one night canteen in institute. We also have a football ground in the campus.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is boring because there is no city life outside the campus. Institute crowd is approximately 2500. There is music club, dance club and film and media club in Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology. Cultural fest-Altering, Urjotsav, and sports fest- Energia are organised in our institute. Energia occurs in February, Kaltrang in April and Urjotsav in November. There are various student chapter of each branch in our institute. There is a separate place provided to play Holi and burn crackers on Diwali. Holidays of 9 days are given on Holi and Dussehra.
