Overall Rating
Overall experience at Shyam Lal College is mediocre. The reason for choosing this college was to do my graduation from Delhi University, North campus. I chose it as top priority because on Google it was cited as North campus college. But when I took admission in this college I realized that it is not a part of North campus. I was so confused weather I should take admission here or not, but after taking admission I am feeling good because with time I have made friends and am enjoying my journey.
 

Academics Rating
I am pursuing B.A (P) with Economics and English at Shyam Lal College. This is my top choice course. The minimum criteria to take Economics hons. is to have mathematics in 10+2. I didn't have mathematics in my 10+2 so that I chose Economics with program course. Admission process is given on DU's official website and college's website. Different courses have different requirements. The end semester examinations take place in the frequency of 6 Months.
The fee of Shyam Lal College for this course is Rs. 23,800 for the first' year and Rs. 24,800 for the second year for the general category. The discount is being given to specific category students according to their category and as per the reservation policy. Delhi University and Government of India provides different scholarships for students to support their education.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members at Shyam Lal College in my course are cordial and are master of their field. Their method of teaching is through blackboards and classes are interective. Most of the faulty members like to interact with students and listen their thoughts about subject areas. Most of them are so friendly. They are master in problem solving in their field. The ratio in my course is 1:20-30 as per core subjects and 1:70-90 in SEC and VAC subjects. Almost all of them are approachable via WhatsApp groups and we can also meet them during college hours.
 

Placement Rating
Shyam Lal College has its placement society. It is so active and it organises different job and internship fair.
 

Hostel Rating
Shyam Lal College does not provide any residential facilities. You have to take your own rooms, PG's or flats as per your choice if you want to stay near the college.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Shyam Lal College has two different academic buildings i.e. namely old building and new building. It has proper space for core subjects but other subjects have so many students so that it is crowded during these classes. The campus size is not so big in comparison to North campus colleges. This college has big library, seminar hall, auditorium, conference hall, labs, etc. Almost all the facilities are available. The gardens and playgrounds are well maintained. This college is good for sports like hockey and volleyball.
 

Campus Rating
Shyam Lal College campus is not as good as North campus. The crowd is good. The different college societies organize their fests, cultural programs, dance and singing competitions, etc. Overall it is so active in extracurricular activities too. College life is overall good here. The students from different backgrounds, religions, cultures make the college more beautiful. If you want to enjoy the diversity of India you can take admission in Delhi University and North campus (if score is so high). This college is good for above average marks.

    If you are coming to this college with the motive of studies then it is definitely good decision. Its Commerce department is best in comparison to other departments.
