Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering really has some good and positive vibes. As you enter there's a lot of greenery which always makes you feel fresh. The college has good infrastructure that is the reason behind me joining this college along with it having an old legacy. The other reasons include popularity in Chennai area and of course good placement opportunities. I would suggest students to join this college because of good placements and better exposure to day to day technologies. The different thing in this college is they have really cool and supportive faculties and good research papers that are done by students and faculties.

I have chosen B.E Electronics and communication engineering as my course. The reason behind this is my interest in the field of semiconductors. India has also started investing in this industry which will lead to a boom in the market and demand of ECE students will rise. The minimum safety cut-off is 185.5 to 187.5 which may differ from caste to caste. There is both management and government way of admission and the government seat is reserved through TNEA counseling. The management seats can be reserved by visiting college and paying the required fee. There are total 3 internal exams of 50 marks. After this we have models and semester practical. Then end semester exam is conducted. As of first year it's all about basics of engineering but as you progress, core subjects are introduced which are updated according to day to day syllabus which is totally worth it to study.

Since I'm a day scholar and government quota student, my fees at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering for first year is Rs. 1,80,000 which includes all the fees of tuition and academic and transport for hostel. For remaining years it will be Rs. 1,50,000 which also includes transportation, academic apart from this Rs. 10,000 for placements, training should be paid differently. Various scholarships are provided on the basis of caste as well as merit which can be viewed on college website for detailed analysis.

Faculties at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering are really supportive and chill. They will support you whenever you need them. As 1st year concern they provide notes at time and their teaching style is really good. Some professors on the other hand can improve their way of teaching as it's not understood by many. All the classrooms have projectors and screens so teachers teach with ppt’s as well as use black boards and regular GD’s are also conducted in class. Since the faculties are really experienced they have good problem solving abilities which is quite impressive. Talking about student’s teacher ratio it is like 1 teacher to maximum of 60 students. My personal bonding with all the facilities is good.

Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering has good placement rate with maximum salary offered up to 40 LPA in software field and low salary up to 2.5 LPA. Core companies also visit the college like microchip and dell. Apart from this many people also opt for higher studies like GATE or abroad which depends on average offer like around 5.5 LPA which is quite decent. Companies like Amazon, Paypal, KLA Technologies often visit college placements.

Hostel is good and infrastructure wise all rooms are well furnished and maintained. There is good cleaning of rooms. The only thing which is a bit disappointing is the food. The quality of food is below average and it could be improved for both boys and girls. Hostels have some strict rules that are flexible and are much needed. 5 out pass is given per month to students. The caution deposit is around Rs. 20,000 and it has access to gym and swimming pools.

The campus is spread in 100 acres of land with 5 classrooms, blocks, etc. Each block consists of 3 floors and we also have separate blocks for each department. Infrastructure wise it is maintained in a good manner. The class rooms strength is 60 students with good desks for 2 each and projectors and screen. Facilities like library where many books are available as well as several seminar halls are also there. These are used in events. A big multipurpose hall and many more things are also available. We have 2 big canteens where many varieties are available. There is a dispensary where you can visit if you aren't feeling well. The sports ground as well indoor sports arena is also available. For Transport we have both AC and non AC buses going over 30 to 40 routes. My favorite place is the place outside the marine block it is really peaceful and cool with benches.

I would say my overall campus life at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering is kind of satisfying with all kinds of fun as well as important things that I have discovered. College does not have a lot of intakes every year. The maximum students per year admitted are not more than 1,200 students. This is why placement rate is also high. The college has many clubs and I'm part of speaker's forum, curtain call as well as care club. We really have fun in all these types of club activities. They arrange many events throughout the years. An annual fest called highways is there as well as several hackathons and intra college events are organized.
