Academics Rating

Professors teaching at Pondicherry University are really good. There are good laboratories, and the placements are also very good. You can interact with professors greatly and you can share everything with them. The syllabus is very good and is easy. It prepares you for CSIR net entrance exam. You can do project in our department or anywhere. The students need 72 credits to pass master's degree. Here Entry is through CUET PG entrance for most of courses. Admission process is completely based on your CUET PG exam score. CUET PG, GATB, IIT JAM and some other entrance exams are approved here.

1st and 3rd semester tuition fee is around Rs. 20,000 and Hostel, mess fee is Rs. 20,000. In the 2nd semester and 4th semester the tuition fee is Rs. 3,200 and hostel, mess fee Rs. 9,040. The credit in each subject is 3 and each credit charges Rs. 16. Except the credit score there are no additional charges for anything in this University. PWD students are eligible for a fee concession. The scholarships provided are NSP, provided to merit students, University scholarship for top 10 merit students in every class and single girl child scholarship.

Faculty Rating

There are Eight professors, two lab technicians with high experience. They all have done post doctoral from top Institutes. The faculty members use PPT as their mode of teaching. Teacher and student ratio 8:60. They talk friendly and there teaching skills are good. Our professors have done their Ph.D from top Universities across world and they have good teaching experience. They are really good at research work too. There are many research scholars under professors. In my course most of the professors teaching are good.

Hostel Rating

Hostels are very good and one new boy’s hostel (Birsamunda Hostel) is made with rooms for 2 members and It has sufficient space and amenities for 2 in a room. First year boy’s hostels have 700 rooms and these hostels are sufficient for 4,200 students. Girls and Boys hostels are separate are are based at a distance of nearly 1 and a half kilometer away. The food quality is good. The Hostel fee is Rs. 9,000 per semester. The timings for hostel are from 7.30 am to 9.30 pm. It’s a central university so you can get many friends from other states and this is one of the best things here.

Infrastructure Rating

Academic block at Pondicherry University is separate for every department. The campus covers 800 acres and Tamil locals are there. There is everything available in the Ananda Rangapillai library. It is highly spacious and there is a study hall present in the library 24/7. There are 2 Big Auditoriums, department specific conference halls, etc. My favorite is Silver Jubilee Campus. Everything is available here in the campus. The classrooms can accommodate 80 members. The 5 canteens are placed at distinct places in the University. Mainly MBA canteen, SJ canteen and Ponlait are the most liked ones.

Campus Rating

Campus life at Pondicherry University is good to study and enjoy. Thousands of students are there. All departments are Art club, PU art club, etc. Most of the celebrated festivals here grandly are Annual fests, etc. As per my experience anyone can achieve their goal in this peaceful University. The University is located in Pondicherry. As it a tourist spot so there are various things to explore here. Most of the students are Tamil, Malayalam, North and Telugu students. Other is from abroad and other states.
