Insights on Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee

Overall Rating
I feel Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee is good and I don't have any disappointing issues with it. I feel like most of the facilities are available in the institute. We have gym, ground, temple, canteens and many more so that we spend our time in learning anything in the institute and also we have a library where it is very peaceful to study. Also, we have many events going on that make the institute’s environment engaging and vibrant.
 

Academics Rating
My academics are pretty good. I am currently performing well in it. I don't feel any academic pressure at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. My course is Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and I have chosen it because I have interest in it and also I have a little bit interest in security so I am trying to learn both and find a way to secure AI. We have midterm and end-term exams and some random quizzes.
We have semester wise fee course and financial aid is available to the students and also scholarship were given to students at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty is very good. They have a great knowledge and they help me in every case and also they try to explain everything clearly. They also encourage doubts and ask students to ask their questions. They have good problem solving ability and they teach both with PPT and blackboard. Sometimes we have lab and practical sessions also.
 

Placement Rating
We have a placement cell at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee and currently I don't know much about it because right now I am a first year student.
 

Hostel Rating
We have good hostels and good food. They serve nutritious food daily and keep in mind about the student health. They also arrange a special dinner once in a month and the menu is decided by the students.
 

Infrastructure Rating
We have many buildings almost every department has their own building. The campus size is about 300 acre and it is spacious. We have two LHCs and both the classrooms contain AC and heaters so that students can feel comfortable. We have auditorium to celebrate or conduct many programs and we have a convocation hall where most of the large events takes place. Medical and transport services are good in Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
 

Campus Rating
I am enjoying my campus life though it is tough in initial days but it seems that everything is good here. There are many clubs and we can learn many things through it and most of the people are friendly here. They try to help others and grow together. We have 2 to 3 annual fests and they are celebrated grandly at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

    The campus is excellent in terms of infrastructure, academics, environment and overall facilities. It is the oldest engineering institute in Asia with a legacy of more than 175 years.     Studying at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee has been a great experience so far. Due to presence of India's most brilliant minds, the competition here is too tough which provides us an environment to grow naturally. The academics here are very strong, with some professors being descent to some being excellent. Courses are challenging too.   • Tough academic environment

    The best thing about IIT Roorkee is the beautiful James Thompson Building, also known as the main building. For every aspirant the motivational aspect is the campus beauty and the campus culture and IITR has both. Full of scenic beauty, Victorian Buildings, closer vacation spots and architecturally advanced structures.
