Tezpur University's Faculty and Academic Environment

My experience in TU is very good. The seniors are good and the juniors are good as well. They are very helpful and friendly. The teachers are also very helpful and qualified. The environment of this University is very good. A lot of plants and trees here which make it a nutritious and healthy environment inside the University. Inside the University the students gets all the facilities in sports. cultural and educational competitions also. All the students and teachers use bicycles which make less pollution inside the University. A vast ground and cleanliness all over the University is provided. The roads, grounds, classes all are neat and clean. Also you get sports facilities like gym, all games court, etc. In my opinion it's a great University which offers you all the facilities till date.

My course in Tezpur University is B.Tech in Computer science and engineering which is a part of SOE inside the University. I heard from pass out seniors that the CSE branch in this University is very good although other branches are also good. The entry requirement isn't very hard. I just cleared JEE main exam and got 95 percentile. After that I got entry in this University. The admission process does not take too long. I just contacted the University online and paid the fee and after that submitted the needed documents. Frequency of exam is quite good. We have exams conducted 4 times in a semester. We have enough time for preparing for the exams.

The fee of B.Tech CSE is around Rs. 28,000 for a single semester. The fee includes all the other expenses too. The candidate has to pay hostel expenses and mess expenses by their own. SC/ST student will get some discount in hostel expenses. The scholarship will not be provided by the University. The students will get scholarship from their state.

The faculty members at Tezpur University are very good. They are very friendly and are well qualified. Some of the faculties have taught in NIT and IIT too. The lab technicians are also well skilled and knowledgeable. They know everything about the lab. They teach us through blackboard, whiteboard, and also via online mediums. They provide PPT's and other notes too. There problem solving abilities of faculties are well defined. The student ratio is not very high. The faculties are very helpful and we can ask any doubt at any time freely.

The placement is quite good in Tezpur University. There are internships offered by the University to students.

There are many hostels in Tezpur University. To be precise there are 7 men hostel and 10 girls hostel. Each hostel’s capacity is very good around 500 students in every hostel. The food is very good. The hygiene is also well maintained. Mess food is served 3 times in a day including evening snack. Each hostel mess fee is around Rs. 2,500 for month. The hostel fee includes semester fee.

The academic blocks of Tezpur University have good and strong structure and also vast capacity in building. Each classroom’s capacity is very good around 70-80. The library facility is very good in University. There are around 1 lakh books in the library and the students can issue books through online and offline mode. Also there is a canteen in every building. The sport facilities are very good here. Every sport has their own court or space in the University also there are a lot of indoor games. My favorite thing is badminton court in the University.

As I am a 3rd year student in the University so my 3 years in this University have been spent really well. I played most of the sports in the University like badminton, boxing, basketball, volleyball, and other athletic games. Badminton is top in it. I play badminton daily. The college crowd is quite good. There are approximately 5000 students in the University but the area of University is quite large so you won’t feel any crowd. You will notice the crowd at the time of games or voting. There is a whole month for annual meet in a year in which many games, hunts and cultural events are organized. In 2025 it is happening now from Jan 20 - Feb 22 and at last there is a cultural night in University i.e. DJ night. My experience is very good in this University.
