Eligibility Requirements at Medhavi Skills University East Sikkim

My overall experience at the Institute has been so well since I joined. This was the best choice that I made by choosing this University. The University makes this place so much fun and well to be in that it does not feel like a University anymore it just feels like a home. Every faculties whether it be the guard uncle on the gate or the faculty with the experience of teaching, everyone around is a sweet and humble individual to interact and to be with. I chose this University because it was different from other traditional Universities out there who were just selling out there courses but here with a proper fee structure they provide the best things that make it all worth it as per the fee I pay. They give you an in hand experience with industry based learning's, Skill challenges and experience of the job's before you have a job. They make you future ready for your future and that's what makes it different from other Institutes. This made me choose this particular University.

The course I am in and why I chose it is because being in this field is my interest. The thing that I want to pursue as a career. My motive is simple, to help the needy ones who need me with my required field and career. This University gives me choice to choose this course that also in and around my locality makes me stress free of all the situations that comes when you go out for study far from your locality. The entry requirement and the eligibility at the University is unique. You must have good marks and moneyto be eligible. Here you can show case how great and talented you are beside studies. You can sit for scholarship exams where you can get 25% of scholarship if you cannot pay the fees. The criteria is that the student should be passed and should have all the requirements of the asked documents like adhar card, result's of class 10 and 12. etc. The exams are conducted in every three months in order to make you prepared for the end term semester exams and also weekly quizzes and tests are conducted. Overall the University prepares you for the real life by giving you education with in hand experience of various skills besides your main course. This prepares you for your upcoming challenges and makes you future ready.

The year wise fees I pay is Rs. 98,000 per year and semester wise I pay the total amount of Rs. 49,000 which is discounted with the scholarship offer availed. In original the fee is Rs. 62,000. Before joining the University with the fulfillment of the admission process the admission fee is Rs. 15,000 and if we want a bus from which we can come to University from far distance then the bus fee is according to the distance where I pay Rs. 10,500 for every three months. I won’t say special discounts for the students of various category but we have scholarship offers, The COI holders of Sikkim, but that scholarship can also be availed by giving an exam of the basic level of the course which is based on your choice. This scholarship gives discount on the course fee by 25%, 15% and 10%.

The faculty members over here are truly very experienced and also with that they have a unique way of making us understand the concept here. We can ask as many questions as we want because we feel safe as they create the environment where we. They present their presentations with PPT’s and with the help of smart board which makes us coping with the modern world and also they give us critical thinking tasks where we are asked to think about a scenario which also helps us in our real life. We work in groups where we enhance our speaking skills and leadership skills. The student teacher ratio in the classroom is 15:1.

The University collaborates with various brands and companies which bring us most of job opportunities. The Institute promises with the 100% of placement's for all the students and individuals. Through on Job Trainings, Skill challenges and industry based learning the University prepares us to acquire jobs in the industry. We have counseling events, Future talks with skills events which make us understand more about why a placement is important. The University has been collaborating with very renowned companies like, Aditya Birla, The ferns, Big Basket, Magnus a multi specialty hospital, Popylex, I H G hotels, etc. The packages offered by the recruiters are more than decent and the reviews they give are also excellent.

The University does offer residential facilities where we can stay in secured place with all the facilities we require. There are total number of 12 rooms in a 4 floor building with 3 rooms on each floor. The total number of students in the hostel is 13 students. There are facilities like Wi-Fi, 24/7 running water and electricity, sports outdoor and indoor, and a canteen. The boys and girls hostels are separate in order to not ruin the opposites privacy and safety to have a positive and peaceful environment. The food is cooked properly and is hygienic with clean stencils and plates. The meal is cooked three times a day including breakfast, lunch and dinner. In between snacks are also provided like tea and biscuits. The hostel monthly fee is Rs. 5,000 and annually it is Rs. 60,000. Hostel rules are simple. There is no roaming outside in the premises without permission. With permission only till 5:30 pm if more than that then you will be suspended or penalty will be charged. The rooms should be clean.

The infrastructure and the campus premises are quite big and free to be roam around. There are 6 blocks in total with large infrastructure. The locality is well maintained with proper transport facility in and around the campus. There are canteens too. There is also a hospital nearby and also clinic in our campus in case of emergency where we can go for the help and treatment. There are facilities like library, seminar halls and all. 24\7 guards are there in our campus for a secured environment. My favorite part in this University is to hang out at the University mess with my friends where we talk about our interests and knowledge.

My overall campus life is very good and well going as it is a positive environment to be in with all the teaching non teaching faculty and my friends. The University crowd is not so chaotic but it’s a place where you make new friends everyday and meet with the new souls. There are clubs which are student driven where no faculties are in charge of, we just run the club by ourselves with a proper cause and I am in the cultural club where we showcase various cultures of our community. The extracurricular activities in our University are the events. The University hosts sports event, annual events, inter University quiz events, cultural events, etc.
