PTU Pondicherry's Top Placement Opportunities

I am student of EEE department. The overall experience that I gained during these 4 years was very satisfying. I have to learn from the best-experienced faculty and advisors during this time. The university is environment friendly as it mainly focuses on the ‘Go Green Environment’. I joined PTU Pondicherry through CENTAC, which is conducted by state government. I chose this university because it is government-aided university.

Actually, I was much more interested in CSE course but due to the higher cut off for general quota category, I had to join EEE department. For admissions, the student should meet the cut off provided in each academic year. I have sincerely felt that I have gained some knowledge through the academics here.

Regarding fee structure, in first year students have to give Rs. 51,000 (including admission fee). From 2nd year onwards, the fee for each year will be Rs. 13,851. In addition, there is a semester exam fees for the all-8 semesters, which is approximately Rs. 2,500. There are scholarships for students who came from government school. SC students can also avail this amount.

In my EEE department, there are both permanent and guest faculty members. All of them have pursued their education from renowned universities. Their method of teaching includes both blackboard and PPTs. HoD of the department will conduct group discussion sessions. The problem solving ability of the faculties are moderate. The teacher student ratio is for 53 students there are 13 teachers. There is a very good bond between students and faculty.

The placement drive will start during 7th semester for all the final year students. It is known as TNP (Training and Placement). It mainly connects students with over 50 plus private companies. Several programs were conducted during this placement process. Some of the companies approached during my placement process are Toshiba, TCS, CTS, Capgemini, LTTS, embeddUR, VA Tech Wabag Ltd., and Schneider Electric. The average package is 4 LPA and the highest package is 12 LPA. I have been placed in LTTS as a Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) at a package of 6 Lakh CTC per annum. There were 3 rounds and I cleared all the rounds to be selected.

Yes, the university offers hostel facilities. Since I’m a day scholar, I do not have any ideas on hostellers. Both boys and girls are having separate residential buildings inside the campus PTU Pondicherry.

The campus academic block is much clean and neat. It is also having the peaceful environment for the student to get their activities. The campus size is around 200 acres. The classrooms are much spacious and ventilated. Library, labs, seminar halls, auditorium, and conference hall are also built in the campus premises. All the facilities are available inside the campus. Regarding sports, the university gives preference to the sports as much as academics. There is a canteen facility available. Medical dispensary is also available for all the students and faculties.

My overall campus life was very much interesting. It gave me very good lifetime friends. The parenting nature of the faculties guided me every tough situation. In my 2021-2025 batch, there are around 700 students in all specializations of B.Tech. There are many clubs inside the campus and some of these are literary club, photography club, etc. I was part in photography club. The organization mainly conducts sports related activities for the intra-university leagues. Overall, it is a good experience that I have joined the best university in Puducherry.
