My Honest Views on Madurai Kamaraj University

Overall Rating
In Madurai Kamaraj University, the infrastructure is good. All the departments and classrooms are in very good condition. North Indian students might have to face some communication issue during initial days in the university because many professors only teach in Tamil. Hence, it is much preferable for Tamil speaking students.
 

Academics Rating
I am doing M.Sc mathematical Economics in School of Economics, Madurai Kamaraj University. This course is important because after completing it, one easily work in Banking or Financial sectors. For admission in this course, you must have UG degree in Economics with minimum 50 to 60%. Admissions are done during the month of June and July. Students can also take admission through sports quota also. Examinations are done in semester wise and there are total four semesters in two years.
In Madurai Kamaraj University, the total fee for M.Sc in Mathematical Economics is Rs. 20,000 for two-year course, that are included all the fees such as caution fee, registration fee, and tuition fee. In first year, Rs. 300 for application fee and Rs. 8,710 as an new admission fee and Rs. 1.010 is for caution, insurance, & aid funds. For second year students fees is also same. In this university also provided scholarship for SC, ST, and OBC students and the amount is Rs. 10,000 for each year.
 

Faculty Rating
In Madurai Kamaraj University, School of Economics, all the faculty members have PhD qualifications. Most of the professors are teaching very well and good. Some professors are very genius. Some professors only teach in Tamil language. Some of the teachers are teaching in both PPT and white board but some are teaching only in a verbal way. In our department, there are total 48 students.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The overall infrastructure is good but the management can be improved. All the facilities that needed by the students are available in university. Campus size of this university is good. In my department, smart and modern classrooms are available with all the basic things. In this university, there is also a big library. There is also a canteen.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is average as it is more study oriented. The overall university crowd is huge. Few festivals are good. I hope in the future, it can organize few more events and activities.
