NIT Raipur's Hostels: Allocation, Facilities, and More

I joined this Institute in 2024. My branch is information technology. I joined this Institute because the average package of this branch is around 18.6 LPA CTC. I got Indian Institute of technology Patna mechanical engineering during JOSSA counseling but I applied for CSAB for this Institute. The Institute’s infrastructure is not so good because it is one of the oldest nits. Inside the Institute there are many plants and trees. The one thing why I joined this Institute is because of the connections that this Institute had. There are many big leaders that come to the Institute for interaction.

I had interest in software field so I joined information technology branch at National Institute of Technology. The entry requirements for this Institute is based on your JEE Main rank. In JOSSA counseling you can apply for admission for this Institute. All the admission processes are completed during the JOSSSA counseling but you have to come to the Institute for physical reporting. On that day they verify all your original documents and if they find anything wrong then your admission will be cancelled. Here everyone starts preparing for exams just a day before the exam.

My tuition fees for semester are 0 Rs. Your fee will depend on your family income. The fee that you pay during JOSSA counseling will be refunded based on your tuition fee. For SC and ST there is no fee category student. You can apply for NSP scholarship in the Institute.

The faculty members at National Institute of Technology are nice. They complete their syllabus before time. All faculty members are fully experienced. They teach students using blackboards with chalk piece and there are projectors in every class. The no. of students are more in my batch. There are total 115 students and there are many teachers. The students are very close to teachers. They even share their numbers to contact them on any time.

The placements in National Institute of Technology are very nice. In my branch the average package is around 18.6 LPA. Most of the people got placed in big companies and the Institute provides on campus internship for students. The highest package is around 60lpa in recent year placements. There is one cell called innovation cell where you can share your ideas and you will get some funding based on your idea for implementation.

The first year students will get hostel on the basis of JEE main rank. From second year onwards the students get hostel based on their CGPA that of odd semesters. This is one of the major drawback of this Institute. There are many PG hostels around the Institute. There are four boys’ hostels in the first year of the Institute and there is only one big hostel for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students. There is only one girl’s hostel. Hostel food was nice during the first year of the Institute and after many months you will not like it as you will get bored of the routine and same taste food. Water services and cleaning services inside the hostels are nice.

No one in the Institute carries books for studying like in schools. There is one library and you have to apply for identity card so that you can issue a book from the library. Everyone prepares for Semester exams by seeing PDF’s and last year papers. The campus size is around 100 acres. You can buy any items whatever you like. All the items are available inside or around the Institute. There are three canteens inside the Institute and there are two grounds inside the Institute. The additional facilities include one gym, etc.

The overall campus review is above average. The total first year students are around 1,400 members. There are many clubs in the Institute. Many fests take place during the Institute. There is one fest called 'Eclectika' that takes place in our Institute. It is also known as central India’s biggest fest. Many other events too take place and there is Garba night organized in October. Many students are very excited to join many clubs and participate in the events that take place inside the Institute.
