Life at Vishwakarma Government Engineering College

Overall Rating
Vishwakarma Government Engineering College is one of the best government engineering colleges of Ahmedabad. Getting admission in this was a very happy moment for me. It has very good infrastructure and is improving at a regular rate (a new hostel is opening soon). Students should definitely join this college if they are interested in studying and gaining practical life experiences. At VGEC you will get quality education at affordable price.
 

Academics Rating
I am pursuing Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from VGEC. Admission in this college is done through ACPC. GUJCET and JEE results are considered for admission. Getting admission in top branches ensure higher packages with such minimal college fees. Vishwakarma Government Engineering College is considered best for EC department. Teacher -student ratio is also very decent in this college. Placement percentage is more than 85% as many students opt for higher studies in India or abroad.
We have to pay semester fees of Rs. 850 for girls and hostel fee is also very affordable. Many scholarships are introduced for special category students with weak finances by Government of Gujarat.
 

Faculty Rating
There are 10-15 faculties teaching in only EC department so teacher student ratio is very decent. They have very impressive background like many of them are Ph.D holders. Their teaching methodology includes both PPTs and blackboards. They are very experienced faculties. Faculties are very helpful and supportive. They thoroughly guide us in technical subjects as well as in life skills also. Non technical subjects are useful to understand various soft skills other than technical subjects.
 

Placement Rating
Training and placement cell of Vishwakarma Government Engineering College actively works for student placement. They organise frequent placement sessions for teaching students to face interview. Highest offered by recruiter in EC department is 13 LPA by Micron and the average packages 4.80 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Vishwakarma Government Engineering College has 1 girls hostel and more than 4 boy’s hostel (don't know the exact number). Hostel facilities are not as good as hostellers often complain about water issues that they face in hostel. Mess food is also not up to the mark and students mostly prefer eating outside as it is reasonable and of good quality. Hostel fees for girls are around Rs. 1,200 annually.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Campus buildings are very good and it includes both old and new buildings. We have quite spacious campus area and classrooms are also very spacious. We have an auditorium, seminar hall, conference hall Library, etc. in the college. Library timing is not so flexible and it mostly remains closed. We have a badminton court, a basket ball area, etc. My favorite place is the lawn or garden area where we have our lunch and can hang out.
 

Campus Rating
My overall campus is very awesome and it becomes even more exciting when we actively participate in clubs. There are various clubs in Vishwakarma Government Engineering College like drama club, English literature club, NCC, NSS, Adventure club, Rocketry Club, etc. One can easily learn various soft skills and life skills by being a part of this club. I am a NSS volunteer and had an amazing experience while serving people.

    This college is very good for studies. In this college life, we have grown a lot and we feel that we can do better in life.     In Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Ahmedabad, most of things are good such as hostel life, college life, average faculty, labs, and classes. In this college have decent placement cell as it provides placements to more than 70% students in on-campus placements so that is why I select this college.
