Campus Life at CEK Karunagapally Clubs and Activities

My overall experience at College of Engineering has been pretty great. The atmosphere here is fantastic and teachers are supportive. College has all kinds of facilities including library, labs and classrooms. The main factor that made me choose this college is that it is filled with a lot of trees. The thing that makes this college different from others is its combination of pleasant atmosphere, supportive faculty and great lab facilities. All this makes this college a great choice.

The course I chose is computer science in B.Tech because I felt a little aligned towards coding. You have to attend the KEAM entrance exam for being eligible and come under rank of 50,000. There will be three allotments in which according to your likeness you can rank the colleges. After this you will get acceptance from some colleges according to your rank. After this you can move to the second allotment waiting for the college of your choice. If you haven't got in the first allotment then move on to third allotment. Exams take place in every 6 months. The academics basically improvise your life skills.

Yearly as a management quota student at College of Engineering I pay around Rs. 70,000, 32,000 and 38000 in two semesters of the year. The tuition fee is Rs. 30,000 and 35,000. Rs. 2,000-3,000 is the exam fee.

Faculty members at College of Engineering in this course are highly qualified with a basic qualification B.Tech and M.Tech. Most of them teach with PPT’s. Some of them teach using blackboards as well. All the faculty members are well qualified are always ready to help us academically by all means. The faculties have high problem solving skills. There are a total of 2,000 students in the college with 65+ faculties. I usually approach the faculties if I have any doubt.

There are currently three blocks in College of Engineering which are CS block, EC block and EEE block. Its structure is pretty good with buildings having frequent renovations and maintenance. Size of the campus is very large covering acres of land. The location is Kallelibhagom. Classrooms are good and tidy with smart boards and good desks. 60 students can sit in the class comfortably. Library is top notch having variety of books. The labs are nice as well. Canteen is pretty good with nice food. Transportation includes buses of college and other means like a walk away.

Overall campus life at College of Engineering is great. I will give it a solid 9 out of 10. College crowd is average. There are a lot of active clubs including IEEE, GDSC, MULEARN, FOSS, IEDC, TINKERHUB, etc. I currently am the tech lead of FOSS and GDSC and have the outreach as lead of MULEARN. I can confirm that the clubs are active and are trying its best to make the students next leaders. Annual events and other celebrations take place as well. Experience has been astounding for me.
