Overall Rating
If I talk about experience, my overall experience is good. You get smart people here because they qualify India's one of the toughest exam. Academics are good here also technology aware environment is provided. All the things are good here but the best thing I consider is placements. Placements of this campus make to choose it. It is governments Institute so they provide good quality of education, hygienic food at minimal cost, etc. all these factors make this Institute different.
 

Academics Rating
I chose this Institute’s biomedical branch and I want to make my career in this field. For admission you have to be score good in India's famous exam JEE Main after 12th class. After securing good rank in JEE Main, you have to wait for counseling. Once the counseling has been started you have to choose your branch and Institute carefully and fill it in the form provided. For real life challenges I am developing and acquiring skills. Frequency is too much low because the selection ratio is not even 2 percent.
Total semester fees at NIT is around Rs. 1,11,000 but if you belong to SC/ST category or your family income is below Rs 1,00,000 then No need to pay tuition fee, only you have to pay mess and hostel fee. One more concession is offered here if your family income in between 1 to 5 lakh, your 2/3 of tuition fee will be reduced. There are many scholarships provided by Institute like alumni scholarship, etc.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties here at NIT are awesome. They help us in all the ways like academics related, internship related, etc. They use PPT and black board both for teaching us. They are well educated so, They have good abilities to solve problems. Teacher student ratio is nice. There are many professors in all departments. My bonding is also good with faculty members. They are very humble in nature and they solve doubts during lecture and you can also contact them after the class for any query.
 

Placement Rating
Placement cell at National Institute of Technology is very impressive. It helps to make high paid companies visit the Institute. It also gives guidance about interview. There are many companies that visit here like Google, YouTube, Apple, Meta, etc. Last year highest package was 86 LPA (on campus) and average is around 12 to 13 LPA. I am in first year so I can't comment on last question.
 

Hostel Rating
They provide warden and caretaker at National Institute of Technology. Yes, girls and boys hostel are separate. Mess food is good and hygienic. Hostel fee is not too much. 4 to 5 thousand per semester. Hostel is locked after 12 ' O clock and no student is allowed to go in or out from hostel without any valid reason. My personal experience is good, internet facility is very good here but rooms are small. It can accommodate 2 people.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is very good. There are many lecture auditoriums and all types of facilities are provided like clean drinking water, clean washrooms, Air conditioners, lights and projectors. Campus area is around 1200 acre. The locality is good. It is 8 km away from railway station and 15 km away from airport. Huge library is present with the collection more than 1 lakh books, many canteens, good medical facilities, MBBS doctors, every sports equipment, etc.
 

Campus Rating
My campus life is good. The Institute crowd is neither more nor less. There are many clubs in all fields like heart beat for singers, Musician, Apps for coders, ML4E for machine learners, etc. It is the best government Institute giving huge budget for fest and events. They invite many superstars, businessmen, content creators, dancers for performance; recently they invited Ashneer Grover as chief guest in campus. I really enjoy the campus life.

    The restaurant and night canteen are best and the food of these restaurants are so tasty that you will never miss you home food. Now inside the campus there are Domino's and Keventers store. This Institute has very beautiful landscape which looks amazing during winters.     It is a good experience to be a student of NIT Rourkela. It has good infrastructure and good placement so you should go for this and the difference is it is a reputed institute and offers better academic quality. Its academic performance is very good that you never get from another institute except NITs and IITs.
