Kurukshetra University Through the Eyes of Final Year Student

Overall Rating
I study in Kurukshetra University as I took admission in June 2023. I gave an entrance test and made it here by first merit list. My overall experience here is great since it offers best quality education to students. It has the better infrastructure. I chose this university since I heard a lot about it. It is an oldest university in Northern region of the Haryana.
 

Academics Rating
If I talk about the course curriculum as set up by the university is as per the guidelines set by UGC. The university conducts for semester exams in a year with each semester occurring after a regular period of 6 month. I went for the Chemistry course because this subject has interested me or I can see I had a great interest in Chemistry. The eligibility criteria for this university for admissions in Master’s in Chemistry is very simple. You simply have to be a student of Bachelor’s in Science. The admission process consists of an entrance test conducted every year by the university in the month of June.
If I talk about the fee structure, the university charges Rs. 12,840 for a year, meaning Rs. 30,000 for a complete course. The university also provides Rs. 4,000 concession in tuition fee for the students belonging to other category such as SC & ST. however, since I am a general category student, no concession was given to me, and no scholarship was availed to me.
 

Faculty Rating
The university has the best quality faculty, who is educated from various institutes of India. My favorite teacher is Dr. Sangeeta Saini mam, who is from IISC Bangalore. Problem solving activity of faculty is great. The teachers are very polite with the students. If I talk about the bond between the student and teacher, then it is just friendly. The student to teacher ratio is around 5:1, since there are 20 teachers in our department for every 100 student.
 

Placement Rating
The university has a placement cell. There is also a separate cell for each department. The placement cell of our Chemistry department is run by Dr. Sangeeta Saini mam. Every year, the university invites various industries to recruit individuals and provide them the best opportunities to support their families. Currently, I had no placement experience as I am in 2nd year of my course. After 2 to 3 months, I will also be placed finally.
 

Hostel Rating
University has separate hostel for boys and girls. There are 12 boy’s hostels and 13 girl’s hostels. The allotment of rooms in the hostel is done based on distance. However, most of the students get into hostel very easily in around Rs. 13,000. Mess charges are around Rs. 3,500 per month. The hostel mess provides best quality food, giving proper nutrition to the students. There is variety of food options in the menu. the hostel timings are 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The university has a best infrastructure. There is a library for the students. University also has a separate health centre for girls and boys, which provide the best medicine and best medical treatment as needed by the student. My favorite place of the university is my department.
 

Campus Rating
My overall campus life review is just wow, since there are diverse people from various locations across the India. Many different clubs are run by various departments. Students can join and get various opportunities. The university also organizes various events such as ‘Ratnavali’, which is an annual fest. There is also Brahmsarovar near the Kurukshetra University, where you can find peace. I had also taken participate into various extracurricular activities. Since, I am a painter; I had participated in many painting competitions.

    Faculty members are very kind and helpful. The exams are conducted on regular basis. It is ranked 700-751 in the Asian University (Rankings 2023) and ranks 41 in the State University category.     The overall experience of Kurukshetra University is good. It is A plus graded university by NAAC. The university campus is very large, covering approximately 500 acres of land and is very beautiful. The teachers here are all very sweet and helpful.
