My Life in VNIT Nagpur

Overall Rating
VNIT Nagpur is well above the standards in terms of facilities and clubs.. The faculties are really good at teaching their respective subjects, though some might not be the best. The only problem I faced is that you have to learn to manage your time as their will be classes on working days and almost all major events are on Saturdays and Sundays.
 

Academics Rating
In each semester, you will have 5 subjects along with 3 labs for them. In Chemistry, you will also have a workshop lab. The exams are divided into mid sem for 30 marks and end sem for 50 marks and 20 marks are for internal (some subjects do not follow it). Papers are not that though just start studying a week before and you can get a good pointer.
The fees structure for each sem is as follows Rs. 70,000 for education fee, Rs. 32,000 for hostel and mess fee. There is also fee remission for family with income between 1 to 5 LPA. The tuition fee will be 1/3rd. For students with family income less than 1 lakh, tuition fee will be nil.
 

Faculty Rating
The professors here are the top of the line, with many holding their Master and PhD degrees from top IITs and top university along the globe. Though their teaching style varies from teacher to teacher. Every one of them is very knowledge in their respective field. Some teachers might need to improve their teaching technique.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel facilities are good for VNIT Nagpur with daily cleaning and water coolers on each floor. Weekly maintenance of water coolers and badminton and volleyball courts inside hostel. For the first year, the in time is 9 PM for boys. But you are allowed to roam inside hostel, if you want. The mess quality is pretty good compared to other institutes.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The sports facilities as I described above are definitely among the best even in terms of NITs and IITs with almost all major sports equipment and ground present. There are 5 badminton courts, 2 basketball, 2 volleyball, 2 lawn Tennis courts, 3 table tennis tables, and cricket, hockey & football grounds. The classrooms are great with air conditioning for hot summers
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life I think is pretty. Though you have to study from time to time. And everyone will cry in front of you saying how bad the institute is. In terms of providing facilities, you will be more than fulfilled. You will surely get interested in one or many clubs and find a lot of people with the same interest.

    A beautiful lush green campus covering around 300 acres, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology is situated in the main city of Nagpur. Around 10 Km away from airport and 7 Km away from station, our campus has a very good connection around the city.     Overall Rating
    Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology is one of the top 10 NITs in India. Its NIRF ranking is also very good (under 50). The campus is clean and green and the placements for my course (Chemical Engineering) are good. The seniors are quite cooperative. I will personally recommend this institute to everyone as it has a very good reputation in the Vidharbha region and professors are very well qualified.     My overall experience is good. My favourite place in the college is its library where you can spend your whole day with books. Wi-Fi facility is available there.
