Navigating Academics and Other Facilities at Kurukshetra University

Overall Rating
Hi my name is Komal Yadav, I am pursuing Masters of Science (Chemistry) course in the Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. I belong to Narnaul, Haryana and got admission here in 2023 after I passed out my Bachelor of Science from Delhi University. Since coming from Delhi University to State University Kurukshetra it was a great experience to be there. The faculties, the best quality infrastructures, the rooms, and the laboratories are so advance that every student wants to get admission here. The polite nature here of the teachers helps the students to communicate with them easily.
 

Academics Rating
Masters of Science (Chemistry) is a two year course. The admission procedure of Kurukshetra University is very much simple. There is an entrance exam which consists of 100 questions of 100 marks without any negative marking. Students getting around 70 to 80 marks can easily get admitted into the University. After the entrance test a merit list is prepared on the basis of the score got by the student which includes 2 to 3 counselling. One can easily prepare for the semester exams which consist of 4 semesters with E-semester conducted at a regular frequency after the period of 5 to 6 month.
The fees of Masters of Science (Chemistry) course are around Rs. 14,000 per year including all the registration fees and tuition fee as well. However students have to pay Rs. 300 for giving the interest test. The university does not provide any kind of scholarship to the students. They can apply for other Government scholarship scheme. I was OBC student that's why I applied for National scholarship portal and I got Rs. 20,000 per year as scholarship amount.
 

Faculty Rating
The University has a best quality faculty qualified from various renowned institutes of India. The teaching method of students consists of simply PowerPoint presentation on white board. The classrooms are well equipped with best quality equipment. The student to teacher ratio is around 5:1. The problem solving ability of the faculty is very great which consist of solving each and every type of problems of student. The bond of the teachers with students is very much humble consisting of all the politeness the students need for solving their problems.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, my department has a placement cell which invites various pharmaceuticals and other industries for recruiting student and providing them the best opportunities as they deserve with an annual CTC package of around 4 to 5 lakh per year. Recently my friend got employed in Cipla at a package of 2.5 lakh. The highest package till date offered by the chemistry department is 8.5 lakh.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, I do live in a hostel. Kurukshetra University provides separate hostel for boys and girls providing a very safe environment for girls to live which consist of 13 girl’s hostel belonging to different degrees. The hostels are very well cleaned and well managed. They have spacious rooms and windows. The hostel timings are from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. In the evening after that the girls are not allowed to get out of the hostel due to the security reasons.
 

Infrastructure Rating
If I talk about the infrastructure of Kurukshetra University, then chemistry department is the second largest department in the Kurukshetra University consisting of two buildings. However, the best building found in Kurukshetra University is of law department. The university also provides various opportunities for students to get into the other activities as well like sports, swimming and others. My favorite part of the Kurukshetra University is the rose garden which consists of around 82 varieties of roses. Overall, the infrastructure of the university is of excellent quality.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life for me is completely peaceful and beautiful. The University has the 400+ acres of green campus consisting of trees and best infrastructure everywhere. Every year Kurukshetra University organizes various events such as Ratnavali and Dharavi festival. The overall campus life is peaceful since it provides safe environment for the girls to wonder here and there. I am a sports girl there; I was also involved in yoga and got second prize in a state level yoga competition.
