SASTRA University: Facilities and Extracurricular Opportunities

First of all the college demands for the merit. There is management quota here, and there is no concession available for anyone. Everyone is treated in the same way. So, I have chosen this college. Here everyone who has joined are selected on merit basis. The competition in the studies will be good. The other best thing in the college is that its fee is very affordable as compared to other colleges.

I am very passionate about the mobiles and their working so, I have chosen electronics and communication engineering. If we want admission in the college we have to fill the application form on the official website that is when the forms are released. Then they will consider your application for two streams automatically. One stream will be based on the JEE score along with IPE score and other stream is based on the IPE (12th marks) only. Once you get admission the monthly exams are conducted after joining the college. Academics are more related to the current trend.

The fee should be paid semester wise. For my course then fee is Rs. 75,000 per semester in my first year then every year 5% increment is done. Admission fee is Rs. 10,000. Application fee is Rs. 600 for girls and Rs. 1,200 for boys. As, I have told no discounts will be provided. The candidates can avail Government Scholarships in the first year that will be given if you satisfy the eligibility criteria.

Faculty in the college is most experienced. The teaching style is good apart from some faculties. The teachers use black board and PPTs as method of teaching. Problem solving ability of faculty is good. If you are facing any problem and the teachers don’t know about it then the teachers will learn it and then resolve your queries. The teacher-student ration is 1:20. The faculty will always be helpful whenever we need their help.

Infrastructure in the college is good. Especially, the auditoriums, labs, library, etc. The library has very pleasant and attractive look. Campus is spread over nearly 250 acres. It is located in Thirumalaisamudram that is in the way of trichy- thanjavur national highway. Class strength will be around 50, No AC is provided. Library, labs, seminar halls, auditorium, atmosphere is good. Canteens are there and all types of sports are available. Medical facility is also there inside the campus along with bus and auto transportation. My favorite thing in campus is library and auditoriums.

My Campus life is okay. College crowd is average. Many clubs are here like technical clubs for every department. I am part of my department’s technical club. Even extra-curricular clubs are also present. Fests like Kuruksastra are held every year in the month of April which is the most awaited fest here. Sports fest will also be there. Technical fest will be held 2 times a year. My experience at college is good. But, Compared to other colleges I feel there are less number of fests here.
