My Opinion on Gauhati Commerce College

Overall Rating
Well being a government college, Gauhati Commerce College is average. Sometimes, you might feel very annoyed of college and sometimes you might feel satisfied to be here. Everything depends upon you and your way of living throughout the college years. It's a quite popular college and you probably won't be disappointed. You’ve to buy books for yourself, though they add the charge for it in the fee receipt but no you won't getting any book for free.
 

Academics Rating
I got quite a good percentage in my HSC so obviously I filled up the form that took like Rs. 100 and I filled it up online. They will release a merit list (which includes quotas too for castes, sports, and other stuff) and if your name is there, then go ahead. the admission process has changed now but your seniors and other officials will definitely help you through it I can guarantee that.
Fee for first semester during admission was Rs. 5,200 and then it is Rs. 4,000 to 5,000. Exam fee is separate which is around Rs. 1,000 to 2,000 depending upon the number of practical classes you have. If you take admission through family income certificate then you have to pay less fee i.e. around Rs. 500 only but the exam fee stays the same.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty of Gauhati Commerce College isn't bad. Some are quite strict. Well you can ask questions to them I'm pretty sure they'll clear your doubts. Ultimately it depends upon you. Self-study is the foremost thing in every college and you can't expect spoon-feeding after you're out of school.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is up to the mark. Overall campus is also big and pretty. There is a library, you've to get the card to use its facilities. There's a canteen and it's quite big. Some classrooms have AC and some do not so it's upon your luck.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life won't disappoint you. Each semester has 600+ students and you'll find almost every tribe or race there. There are separate unions as well for some tribes. Plenty of events so you won't be disappointed especially in college week and election days. Those are the biggest ones I'd say.

  • GCC Guwahati: Affordable Fees and Quality Commerce Education

    In Guwahati, GCC is the best College for Commerce stream. It's located Near Chandmari and can be reached directly via bus. Best facilities are available for commerce background students. For B.Com course, there are 6 semesters generally but recently due to the introduction of New Education Policy (NEP), there will be 8 semesters.
