Specialized Courses at Gujarat University, Ahmedabad

My overall experience in Gujarat University is pretty good as it's a government university so opportunity provided by government like scholarship, fees, opportunity and campus area are very much considerable. There were many factors like choice of course option and specialisation that they provide with good faculty and course structure are good enough. There are many courses such as aviation, hospitality management, international trade and finance that are rarely available in other universities which are provided by them and are good career options to pursue in this era. So we can get into these courses which will provide you good opportunity. They help you to get prepared for corporate world and provide you practical knowledge with help of internships and all.

The course chosen by me is Integrated Masters in Business Administration that is of 5 years but as per new education policy you can also leave after 3 years and can get degree of BBA and after 4 years you can get degree of BBA (Hons.). It is specialised in international trade and finance. They take admission on the basis of 12th marks. Every student who has passed class 12th is eligible to pursue this course from Gujarat University. There are 2 semester in a year and in every semester there are 7 subjects. It includes 2 exams that are midterm exams and end sem exams. Marks are also given on the basis of projects and assignments. It provides you academic knowledge and once you reach to last semester of your course you can get internship that may help you for real life challenges.

Fee of our course in Gujarat University is Rs. 40,000 per semester and Rs. 80,000 in a year. We also pay some extra amount every semester as an examination fees. The fees include tuition fees amount. There is 50% scholarship for students who scored above 75% from Gujarat board and are from Gujarat state only.

Faculty who teaches us had done their Ph.D in their respective specialised subjects which they do teach us. They usually teach us through ppts and also use white board when needed. There are many assignments, projects and group discussion that usually happen in class. They also give us opportunity to prepare a ppt and give presentation. Teacher to student ratio at Gujarat University is 1:15 in mostly classes. It also depends on your course and batches that you chose. Bonding and experience with faculty is pretty good they do solve our doubts and provide extra knowledge whenever required.

There is a placement cell in Gujarat University. They do bring companies in university you can appear for that if you are eligible and if you can crack that interview and then you can get that job.

There are hostels in campus that also have reservations on the basis of caste and your academic score and course you are pursuing. I am not staying in university hostel.

Campus has many departments and blocks like placement cell, sports room, khel-khaana and many more. Campus size is more than 350 acres as it is largest university in Gujarat state. Average seating capacity of a class is around 60 students. There is library which has various book covers almost every type of book and concept. There are auditorium, security and medical facilities available in university. My favorite part of university infrastructure is, there are many gardens which gives fresh and positive energy around.

Overall, campus life is good enough as it is the largest university in whole Gujarat in terms of area. The whole crowd in the Gujarat University is pretty good. There are some clubs for dance, music, instrument, volunteering, writing and many more. There is cultural committee too. I am part of cultural committee they work together whenever there are any events in extracurricular activities like sports competition, orientation, cultural competition, practical workshops department, university or Even intercollegiate. They also give you chance to show your talent. There are many extracurricular activities that may help you to improve your overall personality. There are many events like Bollywood day, traditional day, and group day, back to school day, annual fest, and others. Campus Life is good you can explore it better if you have good friends for that.
