I have a very great experience at Law College Dehradun due to its strong inclination towards academic excellence and practical legal skills. I undertook this course because of my strong passion for the law and judiciary. I opted for this college because this college had good reputation, competent faculty and comprehensive curriculum designed for all the aspirants. The University offers diverse range of services such as personalized attention, advanced moot court facilities, pro-bono services, and global exposure through international collaboration. The emphasis on holistic development, research & development programs set it apart from others.

I choose the integrated BALLB (Hons.) program at Uttaranchal University for its comprehensive curriculum covering all the core and specialized subjects. The eligibility criteria for the same are 10+2 qualification with the aggregate score. The University also conducts its own entrance exam. The admission process is very clear-cut as the interested candidates can directly apply through the official website. The academic structure includes semester based exams i.e. each year divided into two semesters with exams conducted at the end of semester complemented by internal assessments. The curriculum integrates the theory with internships, moot courts and other competitions.

The annual average fee for the 5 year program is around Rs. 1,20,000 with a subsequent increase of 5% every year. There are charges for the library, examination fee, cultural fests and sports as well. Discounts are offered for the SC/ST category. Scholarships and financial aid is offered to the meritorious students, army background students and those who are residents of Uttarakhand.

The faculty at Uttaranchal University is overall good but not up to the mark because of their academic specialization is in different subject. The method of teaching is a combined way of using whiteboards, PPTs, group activities, etc. Their approach emphasizes on critical thinking and problem solving. They are often guiding students face to face real life legal scenarios. The faculty is very approachable and maintains a favorable teacher-student ratio ensuring personalized attention to every student. Their mentorship fosters a supportive pathway which has enriched my academic journey.

Uttaranchal University has a dedicated placement cell but The University curriculum embarks an enriching pathway for the judicial aspirants and therein the placement is restricted to the tech companies only. The cell hosts career development workshops, guest lectures by industry experts, etc. The college is inclining subsequently to offer robust placement opportunities for the students.

Yes, the University offers residential facilities not only to the students as hostellers for boys and girls separately but also as guest house for the families or other persons. The facilities includes Wi-Fi, 24/7 security, electricity and a common recreational area for indoor games. The hostel rooms are well equipped with single, double and triple occupancy. The mess food is moderate in taste and offers four meals a day. Hostel fee- for single rooms, it is Rs. 1,30,000 at present and for double occupancy, it is Rs. 1,00,000. The hostel timings are till 6pm for winters and 7pm for summers in campus. The out time two days a week is till 5:30 pm in winters and 6:30 pm in summers.

The campus is sprawling with top-most modern academic blocks housing, well equipped classrooms, seminar halls, auditorium, etc. The library is extensive providing a wide range of new arrivals with separate library for each departments and a common central library. The computer labs are well equipped for research and legal software. The canteen offers hygienic food and sports facilities are also available. Uttaranchal hospital also provides 24/7 medical facilities to all the students.

Campus life at Uttaranchal University is vibrant and dynamic. It offers academic as well as extra-curricular activities. The college crowd is very diverse having students from various backgrounds. The University has several societies and clubs such as Moot Court Society, Competition Cell, ADR Centre, Literary Club, Debating Society, youth Parliament Society and Cultural Society. The college organizes various workshops, conferences, cultural performances and sports events. My campus life experience has been enriching, offering both academic growth and personal development.
