Review of Dr. B.C Roy Engineering College

Overall Rating
I choose Computer Science Engineering because the placement rate in the college is too good. I checked many college but maximum colleges do not have value for money. In Dr. B.C Roy Engineering College has good placement. Faculty members in college are awesome and very cooperative. In the college they have a gym, library and hostel. To take admission you have to crack WBJEE exam and counseling. College is affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University Of Technology, but currently it is autonomous.
 

Academics Rating
There are two ways to get admission here, first is JEE mains and second WBJEE. After 10th and 12th we are eligible for WBJEE. Through WBJEE one can take admission in any College in West Bengal by attending the counseling post WBJEE result. WBJEE exam is conducted only one time in the year. College conducts 4 CA exams and 1 semester exam after every 6 month.
Scholarship and credit card facility is available in college. For West Bengal students there is Vivekananda Scholarship and Bihar students have credit card scheme for financial aid for Bihar student. College fee is approx Rs.1,44,050/- per year but 1st semester fee is Rs.1,01,625/-.
 

Faculty Rating
All the faculties are M.Tech and Ph.D passed. They provide many benefit during exam time like sharing resource, notes and extra time. In the classroom faculty only use backboard and chalk for teaching. In the college there are three type of faculty, one is professor second one is assistant professor and last is lab assistant / professor. The teacher-student ratio is 1:50. My best professor is Dr. Sanjay Sengupta Sir. He is awesome HoD in my department Computer science and Engineering.
 

Placement Rating
College has dedicated placement cell. Arijit Bose sir is the senior training and placement officer. Many mass recruitment company come in college like Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant and Accenture etc. The average placement is of Rs.5.00 LPA and the highest placement is of Rs.12.00 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, College provides hostel with mess. There are four different building for student year wise. Hostel mess provides food 4 times in a day, but food quality is not so good. The hostel fee is Rs.36,000/- per semester. Hostel cut-off time is 8.00 pm for boys and 6.00 pm for girls.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college has many blocks, different blocks are allotted according to the course and labs. Blocks like administrative block, computers science block, physics lab etc. The campus size is approx 25 acres. Every class has a capacity of 60 students and seminar room have approx 300 student capacity. College provides many sports kits for playing. Inside, college has canteen and stationery shop. The seating capacity of Canteen is 60 persons. My favorite place in college is computer road.
 

Campus Rating
College organizes many events like cultural fest, sports event etc. The famous event is sports is named ‘Athelica’. In this event college organizes different sporting events like volleyball, basketball, cricket etc. Annual fest is a two day event, first day is cultural fest where we wear cultural clothes and second day we wear casual dress. We organize another event for social welfare for poor people. We collect money and clothes to donate to the needy people.

    The overall experience is good. The labs are well-equipped and maintained and the faculty is quite helpful. All the professors are knowledgeable and helpful in academics and also other aspects. The college ground is well maintained and includes sports like football, cricket, basketball and sports facilities. Hostel is also available. The seniors are not arrogant and are quite helpful....
