SIES College: An Insight into Opportunities & Academics

Overall Rating
SIES College of Arts Science and Commerce is great. Placement opportunities are quite good. My experience was brilliant in 2 years of junior college i.e. 11th and 12th were great and hence. I am continuing to pursue my Bachelor's in the same college. The college has several events too so it is not just studies and the fests are very fun. Particular departments also take students for trips in other states and cities so if you love travelling you have opportunities for that too.
 

Academics Rating
The eligibility criteria at my time was around 85% in boards. As I am a Science student, the requirements for it are usually high. The admission process was guided by the teachers of the college and it was done hassle free. I am currently pursuing Bachelors in Biochemistry, as I am interested in doing researches and fond of working in laboratories. The tests conducted are very frequent so the students have to study hard.
The fee for junior college was around Rs. 2,000 for one year and for degree college, it was around Rs. 10,000.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties of my department have been in SIES College of Arts Science and Commerce for over 15 years so they are quite experienced. All the teachers in any department are very kind and approachable. The ratio is also well maintained. I and my group have bonded really well with the faculty. They are very nice and fun. Teaching methods include blackboards, although some lecturers use power point presentations on the projectors. Class discussions are also done.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college does not have a very big campus, it is a little less spacious and can become crowded during any event or fest. However, the hangout spots are quite great as there is some space behind gymkhana and canteen. There are also many fast food restaurants around the college so it becomes quite manageable for impromptu plans with your friends. There is a mini auditorium for workshops and a library as well.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life is great. The college crowd consists mostly of South Indian and Muslim people. There are many clubs like nature club, Rotaract Club, Leo club, cultural association, dance club, etc. Whatever field you are interested in, you can take a part in that. There are many inter-college fests too. The fests of the college are great there are different competitions also.

    I chose this college because it has a good reputation and also has autonomous status. It was ranked among the top 10 colleges for BMS. I recommend students who just cleared 12th to join S.I.E.S. because the environment here is very good and has very friendly staff members. Even though this college doesn’t have much of campus ground, fests and activities are done to the fullest.
