Sibsagar University Fee Structure: Affordable Education with Scholarships

Sibsagar University is an University situated in the outskirt of historical Sivasagar town, i.e. in the historical Joysagar area. This University is situated on the bank of the Joysagar Tank which is the factor for pleasant environment and noise free surrounding. The teaching and non teaching staff is helpful and so it becomes fruitful for students in education. It consists of about 17 departments with Quality staff members. This University has educational environment and many more.

I have completed my Degree from Zoology Department of Sibsagar University. I have chosen this department of this University because I have heard about the faculty of Zoology department being better than other Universities. The students with 1st division can easily enroll in this University but 2nd and 3rd division holders have to wait for some while. Students have to apply in the portal of the University. Lists are prepared and students are selected. 2 sessional exams are held per semester and a final end semester exam is held in every semester which helps to gain credits and get promoted to next semester. The professor teaches whatever it becomes fruitful to every students and prepares them for real life challenges.

For fee waiver students the admission fees is about Rs. 800 per semester. Exam fee is about Rs. 1,500 per semester. BPL students are treated as fee waiver and amount becomes low. For general students admission fees about Rs. 6,000. All scholarships are available that are provided by the government to the students.

There are about 10 teaching and 2 non teaching staff members in every department. Faculty members in this University are from a well known background. All teachers have different types of teaching skills. Some of them use black boards, some use PPT and also group discussions. Seminars are held in every semester. The faculty members can help the students in any way any time. Whether it’s a problem faced by the students, they try their best to resolve it. There is 1:10 ratio of teacher and student in this University. The faculty members are very helpful and they treat us as our guardians. They have a nice bond with the students.

There is a chance of 50% placements in this University. Companies from different sectors held interviews and eligible students are chosen.

Yes, there is a boys' hostel named Old Boys' Hostel and a girls' hostel named Jaya Chatri Nivas. I myself stayed in the hostel. Boys' hostel provides about 40 seats which are going to be increased soon. Girls' hostel provides about 120 seats which will too get doubled next year. Girl’s hostel is at the starting of the University and boy’s hostel is at the ending of the University. Mess food is good according to the fee. Every year admission candidates have to pay 8000 for admission and monthly about Rs. 1,500 for mess fee. There are rules and regulations for the hostellers. My personal experience is best in staying in the hostel. It can teach the student how to become a calm human being and community living and sharing. I miss my hostel life very much.

It is a large University about 1.5 km long. Classrooms are large and some are air conditioned and some are noyt air conditioned. There is a library attached with museum where about 500 students can study at a time. There are also conference halls, two auditoriums, etc. Recently an open stage is constructed. There are labs in science departments. There is a book stall in the campus. There are 3 canteens in the campus. It has a huge seating area where students can spend time at their off periods.

My overall campus life is good. There are huge open spaces so crowd is a bit less. There are no clubs nearby. Different fests are held in the University like Saraswati puja, Biswakarma puja, etc. University week recently varsity week. Overall the University is best to enroll. There is no fear for girls. Without any second thoughts students can enroll in this University. There is no noise, no fear, good quality of education is provided. This is a University with excellence and potential.
