Scholarships and Fees at Sibsagar University

The overall experience of my academic life is pretty and very unique at our Sibsagar University. The main factor that attracted me the most was its environment and overall eco system in study like very high quality conceptual knowledge providing faculty members in all branches of science and enormous amount of study materials which is easily available in our departmental library and central library as well. The main difference in our University which makes it different from others is its unique and nearly perfect teaching style and skills in every aspects of science.

The course chosen by me is Physics (Hons.). I know physics is quite challenging as compared to other subjects of science but it is very interesting as well so I preferred it than other courses. Since Physics has a vast field in modern science and technology I think by understanding its core concepts it brings everyone a better job opportunity as compared to other subjects in science. The eligibility criteria are mainly based on the latest years result percentages of the applicants and the final cutoff is given by the University authorities. One thing is correct that you need to have basic knowledge of mathematics, chemistry and physics and score. At least more than 60% in both these subjects and greater than or equal to 60% overall in HS final year examination. Admission process is based on the above mentioned eligibility criteria and you need to attend in the particular counseling day (it's healed in offline mode)which is provided by the University authorities and you must carry all the essential documents required whichever instructed by the University authorities. Admission process is mainly offline in our University, but you must fill the admission form of the University website and choose your preference of which subject would you like to study. Frequency of exams in chosen field is usually student friendly. If you are successful in learning all concepts and knowledge whichever is provided by the University then according to me you are prepared for any competitive examinations and jobs. You can crack any real life challenges too.

The fee of my chosen course, physics is very affordable. Semester wise you need to pay minimum of Rs. 5,000. The fee per year is nearly Rs. 5,000-7,000. The registration fee is nearly Rs. 1,200-2,000 semesters wise. The other fine is commonly late fines and 500₹ for NC (Non collegiate students). Here we don't need to take any tuition because our teachers are very friendly and available in all the academic periods so they take all the necessary classes and provide useful study materials. Special discounts are given for ST, SC, EWS and BPL category and the students who don't have any backlog in final year or semester examinations. All the scholarship provided by the government of India or Assam are provided to all the students who are eligible for those, and some financial aid are provided to the students who are topper in final year or semester examination. You must carry a good CGPA or SGPA.

The faculty of my chosen department, physics is very good at every aspect. The background of faculty members in very brilliant and adorable. The faculty members of our department are very interactive. They teach using blackboards and white board. In terms of audio-visual aids they share notes and educate us using PPT and PDF format. They take seminar and group discussions too. The problem solving abilities of the faculty is very great. The teacher-student ratio in our University is slightly lower than the required amount but it is easily managed. The friendship between students and our faculty members is very good. They are very approachable at all times in our University.

Currently Sibsagar University has a placement cell at our University. More than 80% students get job opportunity after successfully completing any course or skills that has applied for. The above mentioned cell provides us a soft and hard skill in modern technology especially in computer science. They also help our University students in acquiring jobs in any companies or industry related to Information and technology sector. Placement related activities are organized for the students like national and international seminar in career and job opportunity, competitive examination oriented seminar, quiz competition, meeting, etc. in our University. Renowned companies like Infosys frequently visited our University for their requirements. Packages offered by the recruiters are average: 1.5 lakh to highest 3 lakh per annum.

Our University offers residential facilities are hygiene. In the University girls and boys hostels are separate. Mess food is not perfect but not very bad either. The mess is hygiene and is maintained beautifully. Hostel fees are very affordable which nearly Rs. 1,000 per month is. Hostel Rooms are mediocre. There are a lot of restrictions that are mandatory for each and every student to follow. All the hostel students are supervised by the hostel warden and the University authorities. Mobile phones are strictly prohibited during study time.

Sibsagar University’s campus academic blocks and structures is very beautiful and hygiene. Campus size is quite Big and locality is Joysagar (Sivasagar district). Classrooms are very beautiful and big. Approximately 100 students can easily accommodate in a single classroom. All classrooms are equipped with big size white or black boards and some class rooms also have smart digital boards and projector. All essential academic facilities like library, Labs, seminar hall, auditorium, conference hall, etc. are available in our University. There are three canteens that are currently present in our University. There is one big sports play ground with a big size indoor stadium. Medical facilities are also available around few kilometers. One government civil hospital in also present namely Joysagar civil hospital. Transport facilities are also available and are good as the students can easily go to Dibrugarh and Jorhat from Joysagar using bus facility. For security, all the academic campus region is covered with CCTV cameras and a few meters away. There are two CRPF camps. Other facilities that are essential for the students of our University are very easily available within a very small distance apart from the campus. My favorite thing are the beautiful trees inside the academic campus and the most peaceful and beautiful bank of the historical Joysagar Tank. The facilities or infrastructure features that complement my courses teaching or academic experience is its beautiful and hygienic class rooms, library, etc.

My overall campus life at Sibsagar University has been very interesting and memorable. The University crowd in very peaceful. Our University has one club for each and every common sport. There are a lot of extracurricular activities that are organized by our University authorities like debate and quiz competitions and sports week. Annual fests or events like farewell are celebrated in our University. My experience about the campus life of our University is mind-blowing.
