DTU B.Tech Fees and Financial Aid

DTU is considered as one of the best colleges in Delhi and It is one of the oldest engineering colleges. The placement record is just good due to being average but most of the students do not get placed based on their academic record. The campus is huge but some buildings are Old and also the first year students get classrooms that are average looking. Everything has its pros and cons. A good college but not best. The faculties that teach are not deeply connected with students the relationship is just limited to teaching. The college is funded by government but it still has higher fees than most private colleges. The fests organized are good on the surface but not so good artists come. Only old artists are called and we are mesmerized by their talent.

I am currently pursuing Chemical Engineering, But That's my choice as I love chemistry. To enroll you need minimum Rank of 90,000 in JEE MAIN for general category (in chemical engineering). The admission Process is managed by JAC counseling and is very confusing and requires a lot of documents. The exams are taken Twice, Once Mid-term and then end-semester. Many assignments are submitted throughout the year. Along with teaching they also motivate us to do better.

The total fee of B.Tech here is for 4 years is around 11 lakh. That’s only the academic fees and it doesn't include the various fees over the years. There is no admission fee or other fee added. The first year fee is approximately Rs. 2.46 lakh and it is raised by 20k every year. Rs. 2.66 lakh for second, Rs. 2.76 lakh for third and Rs. 2.96 lakh for the fourth year. There are scholarships but not so much as for all students.

I am neutral about the faculties. The faculties are mostly those who have cleared Ph.D and are smart. It is not their passion. They have good problem solving abilities and will solve all the questions that you ask them. They will also help you in any manner.

The placement looks good.

Yes, there are hostels, but for the first years the quality of Hostel is not really good. Many people got hostels allotted but didn't take them just because of the cleanliness in the room. Whereas the girls hostel on the other hand is really good and Porsche. The boys hostel is not as good as girls.

The infrastructure of the college is very big. It contains all types of buildings, block, ground, canteen, classroom, cafes and many more. They even got a bank and Kendriya Bhandar. They have Amul and mother dairy stores inside the campus. Also Dominos and Bistro 57 are available in the premises. The campus is based in 170 acres and is filled with nature. The events are done at OAT.

College Life is mediocre. The education offered is nice. On Diwali Mela everything ends at 9’O clock in night. The students use the library for studying at a reasonable hour. The college offers many clubs and societies that you can join. Many extracurricular activities are also organized. This college hosts one of the biggest fest in North India.
