2024 Pass Out Student’s Perspective of ANDC, New Delhi

Overall Rating
The college was average. I took admission in this college, as it is a part of Delhi University (DU). During the admission time, I was not able to secure good marks in JEE Main but my academic marks were good enough to get admission in this course in the first list itself. I mainly took admission in this college and course as it did not have chemistry, but electronics, which I admire the most. There were similar colleges offering the same courses, but due to their bad reputation, I took admission in this college.
 

Academics Rating
I chose the course of B.Sc (Physical Science) with Electronics mainly with the motive of not studying Chemistry further. During my time, the eligibility was to get high marks in 12th standard (2021). Currently, ANDC New Delhi requires good marks in CUET UG for admission. The exams were held semester-wise, excluding the internal exams held by the teachers. There were 4 subjects as it was a program course with 3 subjects as Physics, Maths, Electronics, and 4th one the subject of your choice.
For my course, the total fee was counted yearly (excluding the examination fee). During my time, the first two years had the fees of Rs. 7,900 while third year had higher fee of almost Rs. 10,000. There were many scholarships, upto reducing 50-60% of total fee. I never discussed with students of special category (SC, STs, and OBCs) whether they had any discounts or not.
 

Faculty Rating
Most of the faculties were old. They were alumni of IITs or IIITs. Some had completed their doctorate in their field. For Physics, many teachers taught us with the help of PPTs and Whiteboard for examples, while Mathematics teacher had to use blackboard/whiteboard only. The problem-solving ability of most of the faculty was good. They communicated well on solving our doubts.
 

Placement Rating
There is no official placement cell in ANDC New Delhi. Those who enrolled will have to pay for a Psychometric test and then they have to pay for 1-year training fee and after that, they would receive a package of 4-6 LPA (based on location).
 

Hostel Rating
No, my college does not have any kind of hostel/residential facilities. Students who came from outside Delhi have to book PGs near the college.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college had a small infrastructure so it was easy to explore. The campus was located near Kalkaji market and surrounded by residential area. Each classroom had a seat for 30+ students. AVs were added in the classrooms after 2024. Library area was good. Various events occurred at Seminar Hall/Conference Hall. Canteen was also improved after 2024, which added more food items and cleaner benches. Security was okay according to the campus size, but was small when it comes to events such as festive events, etc.
 

Campus Rating
I would rate my campus size average. I was unhappy to call that I am an alumni of this college., various societies such as eco-club, NSS, Sports, etc., were highly active. I was part of Eco Club in first year and I enjoyed it a lot. Mainly, ‘Leiothrixx’ was held in the college every year. Other events were avoided due to Corona safety measures. but in last year, Dandiya night was celebrated. The only thing I miss was that students of our course were not allowed to go to trip because of Covid-19 in the year 2022. I also have to know that other course went to Manali and they got Rs. 2,000 extra discounts.

    ANDC is a little less known among university students but ranks within the top 20 colleges across India in NIRF rankings. From my experience, I would call it a hidden gem at Delhi University. The college offers only science courses and a B.Com program. The attraction of the college is its excellent faculty, which has given rise to numerous talented scientists.     Acharya Narendra Dev College is a renowned part of University of Delhi. It’s a Science college offering quality education at an affordable fee structure. I chose the college because of the above-mentioned qualities. There is also a scholarship for the students making access to education more cost effective.     The faculty of the college was very good and the teachers were highly qualified you can even check their profile on college website. Those who are good in sports can improve their skills by playing with some good players because many players come from sports quota and there is so much greenery is in the college plus you can join so many clubs there....
