SVIST Kolkata Placement Opportunities and Career Prospects

My overall experience in SVIST Kolkata is average. Students can take admission in this institute because its environment is very peaceful. In this institute, there are huge labs and the environment of this area is very calming. Behavior of local people in this area are very polite.

Entry requirement is that a student must study 10+2 with Science stream. There are no entrance examination for admission. Students need to submit copies of HSC result, Aadhaar Card, passport size photo, and few other documents. Even semester is of 7 to 8 months and odd semester is of 3 to 4 months.

Semester fee for my course is Rs. 33,000, which makes Rs. 66,000 for a year. This fee structure includes Tuition fee of Rs. 4,00 (per month), Admission fee of Rs. 10,000, Registration fee of Rs. 4,000, Library fee of Rs. 2,000 (per semester), Lab fee of Rs. 4,000 (per semester), Exam fee of Rs. 1,200, Exam paper review fee of Rs. 200 (per subject), and Supply exam fee of Rs. 1000. In this institute, Swami Vivekanand merit cum scholarship is also available. The student can get Rs. 60,000 per year through this scholarship. But they need to be passing in every subject and the result needs to be above 60% in every semester. Students need to keep in mind to pay the fee on time. Otherwise, they will be charged with fine of Rs. 100.

In my Electronics & Communication Engineering course, the faculty members are very professional in teaching and very helpful in any queries. Faculty members are very humble and have polite behavior. Teacher’s teaching skill is very good. The teacher to student ratio is about 1:10 here. My experience with our faculty members is very good. Our faculty members are not the type teachers who are only talk but don't do it in work. They are appreciable.

Institute has potential to improve placement services and records. Around 40 to 50% students get placements. Some of the recruiting companies like TCS, Wipro, Tata, etc. visited our institute for placements. The highest package offered by the recruiter is 9 LPA and average package is 4 LPA.

Yes, there are hostel facilities in SVIST Kolkata. Girl’s and boy’s hostels are separate. Our institute has 3-3 hostels for both of these genders. However, only one girl’s hostel is inside campus area. Other hostels are in nearby area. Mess food is average. Hostel fees is Rs. 5,500 per month. Hostel in time for every first year student is 7 PM, otherwise management calls guardian to complain about it. My hostel life is very enjoyable but we need to have better food quality.

The college structure is like 'T' shape by the roof our college. Campus size of this institute is not too much big but the environment of this area is really very good. The local person of this area are very helpful and polite with every student . The classroom size is average. But we need digital board in our every class to study well. Every student can use library books. Without course related books can also bring out, and he/she can read it. Canteen facilities are good. After the entry gate of the college canteen is available for students 24×7. But food quality is average. My favourite thing about this college is the faculty members behaviour and the college campus local area. In our ECE course,the lab size is big and the accessories for every lab is present in this college.

My overall campus life is good. Here, the clubs are very helpful. Students can enhance their communication and other skills through these clubs. Every year, a fresher’s party is held for new comers along with a fest and a farewell party.
